I have not published for a while in the Black and White community nor in the Monomad contest, in spite of the fact that I like very much the B&W format. I learnt photography using the B&W in the analog world and developing the films myself in the lab (That was decades ago!). Being said these reflections, I present in this post a series of photos whose main elements are the trees on one side of the image and the concrete (a wall) on the other side. I based the composition along one of the main diagonals, each of the elements that I mentioned before is in one of the sides of the diagonal. The separation between these two elements is the sky, which is very dark (in this way it emulates the usage of a polarizer filter, obviously the emulation is done with a software).
It is also worth noting that the wall has a line of windows which reflects part of the trees. Other interesting elements in the images are the texture of the wall and the light on the leaves. Do you agree?
Hace tiempo que no publico en la comunidad de Black and White ni en el concurso de Monomad en particular, a pesar de que el formato de blanco y negro es uno de mis favoritos. Aprendí fotografía (hace ya varias décadas de ello) en medio de este formato monocromático, en el mundo analógico (film) y revelando las películas uno mismo en el laboratorio. Dicho esta reflexión, en este post presento una serie de fotografías cuyo elemento principal es la vegetación (expresada en árboles) en contraste con construcciones de concreto. Basé la composición en la diagonal, cada elemento usa la mitad de la imagen y el cielo en medio de una de las diagonales principales es el elemento separador. Usualmente en la fotografía en blanco y negro, muestro el cielo con casi en negro completamente, lo cual simula el uso de filtros polarizadores (obviamente la simulación es realizada en software).
Además vale la pena destacar las ventanas sobre la construcción que forman un linea en la que se observan los reflejos de parte de los árboles.
Otros elementos interesantes de las imágenes son la textura de la pared y la luz sobre las hojas de los árboles ¿están de acuerdo?

The photos were taken with the camera of a Samsung Galaxy S20 and edited in Gimp. The process of converting the color image in B&W was done with a tool known as “channel mixer”.
Las fotografías fueron tomadas con la cámara de un Samsung Galaxy S20 y la edición se efectuó en Gimp, la conversión a blanco y negro se realizó mediante la herramienta conocida como “Channel Mixer”.
