The chances we did not take

Sometimes we are so careful, that we refuse taking chances. We occupy our minds with questions like "What if it's not true, what if I'm not qualified, what if it's just a waste of time, etc." Bringing in more reasons why we should neglect every opportunity. In life, the only thing we regret is the chances we did not take. It's ok to fail, it's ok to be rejected, it's on this path that we gain strength to stand, and experience enough to take us farther in life. I realised the reason why I had missed most chances in life was that, I was more concerned about the lost and it consequences, while shunning the possibility of winning. The message of taking risk may seem foolish for a man who had failed several times, now resolved to his level of comfort, he believes risk taking is not worthy for everyone. Unknowingly, he had missed more chances of achieving his goal by his inactivity.

There are many chances I had missed in life. I wanted to be careful, and conscious about everything but unknowingly, I was missing chances of becoming who I had envisioned to become. There was an opportunity that was opened for employment some years ago, I felt I wasn't qualified for it, and I feared performing below expected, so I did not apply. After everything, I realised people who were employed were not up to my qualifications and no strict interview was conducted. There are lot more examples of money and opportunities that I missed because I was being careful, but they all ended up with regret because I refused taking chances, though sometimes, some chances are not worth taking. It requires wisdom to discern which is worth a try or not.

Life is a risk, the entirety of it is a risk, from the little decisions we take to the bigger ones and the actions we take as well. Don't allow the indecision, or chances you refuse to take today make you regret in the future and wish you had taking that chance. Take chances today.
