My Card Collection Optimization: Focus on Water Cards
Splinterlands is by far the most "complete" blockchain-based game I play and have invested in because:
- it has at its core a fun strategy game based on NFTs and of the Player Vs Player (PvP) type
- it has many assets (NFTs and tokens) that allow to choose from many possible investment strategies.
Today after only two days, I resume sharing the activities of optimizing my card collection which mainly consists of:
- selling cards that are of little use in battle and/or that I never use in battle.
- selling cards that are objectively useful in battle but only at a certain level and that I cannot or will not upgrade
- buy cards that are useful in battle
I have decided to accelerate my optimization efforts because I want to reach my game goal as soon as possible: play in Diamond leagues from the very first days of the season and not only on the last day of the season as was the case in the last few seasons I played and as is happening in the current season.
When there are less than 3 days left until the end of the season, I am in the Gold I league (Wild Format) and I am 217 rating points away from entering the Diamond III league.
So I am still a long way from reaching my gaming goal but with the card purchases and upgrades I have made in the last 30 days, I have at least begun to put the foundation in place to reach my gaming goal in the near future.
In two of my previous posts I have shared my purchase and/or upgrade choices related to cards of the Fire and Dragon elements.
In today's post I will focus on purchasing and/or upgrading cards of the water element.
My purchase and/or upgrade goals
Choosing a card to upgrade or purchase is not an equal choice for all players and could be a better or worse choice based on:
- the type and level of summoners a player has in his or her collection
- to the league in which a player plays or would like to play
- to the budget available
The first cards to consider and evaluate are the summoner type cards.
Summoners of the Water element
In the following image you can see all the summoner type cards of the Water element.
There are a total of 9 summoner cards of the Water element excluding the Alpha and Gold variants.
In my card collection I have 3 summoners of the Water element:
- 1 Alric Storbringher level 5 (+ 2 BCX uncombined)
- 1 Kelya Frendul of level 5 (+ 2 BCX not combined)
- 3 Possibilus The Wise of level 1
The summoner of the water element that I use the most is Alric Storbringher (level 5) although when I have the opportunity to use Dragon element cards I prefer to use the summoner Delwyn Dragonscale (level 8) because he has a higher level and can summon higher level cards than Alric Storbringher.
Thanks to the 11th Chaos Legion airdrop and the 707 Chaos Legion Packs I purchased in the past, I received 3 Possibilus The Wise cards.
If I had a lot of funds to invest on Splinterlands I would immediately upgrade Possibilus The Wise to the highest level but this is not my condition so I have to make choices.
I am still undecided but will most likely will sell my three copies to buy more cards because:
- Possibilus The Wise is a very situational summoner in the sense that it can only be very useful in battles that have precise battle rules such as Melee Mayeem and Opportunity.
- The Trample ability is a very useful ability in Ruleset Stampede but it is also an ability that other cards that can be used with water element summoners have, and using these cards has the same effect as using the summoner Possibilus The Wise
- my main goal related to summoners is to upgrade my Byzantine Kitty from level 2 to level 3 and when I reach my goal I will hardly use Possibilus The Wise instead of Byzantine Kitty which costs only 1 more mana.
Upgrading water summoners is not currently my priority also because I can use my dragon element summoners to summon water element cards.
My only upgrade goal is related to the Kelya Frendul summoner which I want to upgrade to level 6 because it can be useful when I play in some fray of Brawls like the one in the following image.
I have 42 BCX of Kelya Frendul and to upgrade to level 6 I need to buy another 18 BCX.
Since I was not in a particular hurry, I chose to use the Make Bid feature of Peakmonsters as the mode of purchase.
Legendary monsters of the Water element
In the following image you can see the legendary monster cards of the water element that I have in my collection.
The card that I use the most is Ruler of The Seas (level 3) and it is also the card that I would like to upgrade to the maximum level but buying 5 more copies has quite a high total cost and for that reason I prefer to buy and upgrade cards that have a lower purchase cost first.
I also use The Kraken a lot when mana available is a lot but having as a goal to bring my Agor Longtail to level 3 I decided not to upgrade the Kraken at the moment because when I get to use dragon-type summoners I would almost always choose Agor Longtail instead of The Kraken.
The first legendary card I want to upgrade today and up to the maximum level is Djinn Oshannus.
In my collection I have 9 BCX and to bring Djinn Oshannus to the maximum level I only need to buy 2 BCX and spend only $3.30.
Spending $3.30 to increase the magic attack by 1 unit seems to me to be an inexpensive and beneficial operation, so I immediately purchased the 2 BCXs I needed and used https://monstermarket.io/ to purchase them
Another card I want to upgrade to the highest level is River Hellondale.
Differently from Djinn Oshannus, River Hellondale has a higher cost per BCX: $4.37.
I decided to buy only the two BCXs I need to upgrade River Hellondale from second level to third level right away.
By the way playing almost the whole season in Gold leagues I could only use River Hellondale with level 3 stats even if I had level 4.
To upgrade from level 2 to level 3 I used Monstermarket
Since I am hopeful that I will be able to play in the Diamond leagues I decided to try to purchase 5 more BCXs right away to get my River Hellondale to the maximum level but I also want to try to spend less and for that reason and in this case I used the Make Bid feature of Peakmonsters as my purchase method.
Epic monsters of the water element
In the following image you can see the epic monster cards of the water element that I have in my collection.
The epic cards of the water element that I use the most is Tide Biter and I use it mostly when the battle rule is Explosive Weaponery.
Cards I use but less frequently are:
- Torhilo The Frozen (level 4): in last place when the battle rule is Melee Mayhem to take advantage of the Last Stand ability.
- Wave Brood (level 3): when I want to direct the opponent's attacks to a position other than the first.
There is one card I really like and that is Lobstradamus of level 6 because it is basically a Lord Arianthus without the void ability but with a magic attack.
Unfortunately, I only have one BCX and getting my Lobstradamus to the level I would like, the highest level, would cost me about $215.
Lobstradamus level 6 is an upgrade goal of mine but it is not a priority goal right now and it is as always all the responsibility of Byzantine Kitty who has now become my obsession :)
Rare Monsters of the Water Element
In the following image you can see rare monsters of the water element that I have in my card collection.
For the moment I am leaving out some monsters that I would like to upgrade but cost a lot like Ice Pixie and Kelp Initiate.
For example, I would like to bring my Kelp Initiate from level 5 to level 7, the level where it acquires the Triage ability but I would have to spend $100 and I want to save up to get to my current main goal which is still Byzantine Kitty level 3.
Therefore, I will focus on cards that are useful to me in battle but also have a relatively low cost.
The first card I want to upgrade to the maximum level is Venari Wawesmith.
I have a total of 71 BCX in my collection and need 44 BCX to reach my upgrade goal.
Venari Wawesmith of maximum level has excellent battle stats:
- 3 magic attack points
- two abilities:
- Protect (useful in particular Rulesets such as Earthquake).
- Dispel (useful in particular Rulesets such as Stampede).
- 4 points of speed
- 4 life points.
The cost I have to incur is really low, so I immediately proceed to upgrade to level 8.
Another upgrade goal of mine is Diemonshark and the level I would like to upgrade him to is the maximum level (level 8).
In my collection I have:
- 1 level 4 Diemonshark
- 12 Diemonshark of level 1
In this case I decided to make BID offers from Peakmonsters for the same considerations I made for River Hellondale.
Since I play in Gold leagues I would not get an immediate benefit to upgrade my Diemonshark from level 4 to level 8 because I would benefit from Diemonshark's level 6 stats (+ 2 life points compared to level 4).
For this reason I will try to purchase 78 BCX at a lower price and have made the BID purchase offers from Peakmonsters that you can see in the image below.
Common monsters of the Water element
In the following image you can see the common monsters of the water element that I have in my card collection.
Although common there are some cards that are really useful in battle.
For example, one of the cards I use often is Albatross of level 6.
It costs only 1 mana point and has the Tank Heal ability.
There is no other card that costs 1 mana that has the Tank Heal ability.
I use level 6 Albatross a lot in battles that have the Little League rule or have little mana available.
Today Albatross level 6 costs 85$ and if I didn't have it in my collection I would buy it right away ;)
The first card I decided to upgrade is Pelacor Bandit.
Pecalor Bandit is the obvious example of a card that is as useful in battle as it is cheap to purchase.
The reason for its cost being so low ($2.96 for level 10) is just the number of cards in circulation: 1865778.
To demonstrate what I just wrote, I show you a comparison between Pelacor Bandit and a card that has very similar statistics: Sabre Shark.
Which card between the two is more useful in battle?
Which one costs more?
Looking only at the game stats Pecalor Bandit is definitely a "must buy" in my opinion.
In my collection I have:
- 1 Pelacor Bandit level 9 (300 BCX)
- 1 Pelacor Bandit level 4 (41 BCX).
Taking my Pelacor Bandit to the maximum level costs me very little: $0.5310
Another card I decided to upgrade today is Hardy Stonefish.
It's a card that I almost never use in battle but from level 7 on I might do so because it becomes an interesting card because it gets a total of two melee attack points and gets a possible and useful use in battles with little mana available such as battles with the Little League rule.
In my collection I have:
- 1 level 3 Hardy Stonefish (14 BCX)
- 112 level 1 Hardy Stonefish
A really inexpensive ugrade that I did right away.
The last card I decided to upgrade is Deeplurker.
A card that I really like also because it is a card that I can use with my Daria Dragonscale summoner.
In my card collection I have:
- 2 Deeplurker of level 4 (30 BCX each).
- 56 Deeplurker of level 1.
I want to upgrade my Deeplurker from level 4 to level 8, a level where it acquires one more attack point and the poison ability.
To reach my upgrade goal, I need to purchase 104 BCX and spend $20.8
I used Monstermarket to make the purchase and at the time of purchase I found even better prices and spent a total of $18,649.
Final Considerations
With the purchases I made today, I continued to increase the battle strength of my card collection.
I now have a stronger Fire, Water and Dragon element card collection in battle than before.
I am almost halfway through optimizing my card collection and I am missing strengthening the collections of the elements Earth, Life, Death and Neutral.
Even the purchases/upgrades I made today and shared in this post will most likely not be enough to return to playing in the Diamond leagues of Splinterlands in the near future but I have definitely taken another step toward this goal of mine.

L'ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte: Focus sulle carte dell'elemento Acqua
Splinterlands è in assoluto il gioco basato su blockchain più completo a cui gioco e in cui ho investito perchè:
- ha alla base un divertente gioco di strategia basato su NFT Player Vs Player (PvP)
- ha tanti assets (NFTs e tokens) che permettono di scegliere tra tante possibili strategie di investimento.
Oggi dopo soli due giorni riprendo a condividere l'attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte che consiste principalmente nel:
- vendere le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e/o che non utilizzo mai in battaglia
- vendere le carte che sono oggettivamente utili in battaglia ma solo ad un determinato livello e che non posso o non ho intenzione di potenziare
- acquistare carte che sono utili in battaglia
Ho deciso di accellerare la mia attività di ottimizzazione perchè voglio raggiungere il prima possibile l'obiettivo di gioco che mi sono imposto di raggiungere: giocare nelle leghe Diamond fin dai primi giorni della stagione e non solo nell'ultimo giorno della stagione come è avvenuto nelle ultime stagioni da me giocate e come sta avvenendo nella stagione in corso.
Quando mancano meno di 3 giorni alla fine della stagione sono in lega Gold I (Wild Format) e mi mancano 217 rating points per accedere alla lega Diamond III.
Sono quindi ancora lontano dal raggiungere il mio obiettivo di gioco ma con gli acquisti di carte e gli upgrades che ho fatto negli ultimi 30 giorni ho iniziato almeno a porre le basi per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di gioco nel prossimo futuro.
In due mie precedenti post ho condiviso le mie scelte di acquisto e/o di upgrade delle carte degli elementi Fire e Dragon.
Nel post di oggi mi focalizzerò sull'acquisto e/o l'upgrade delle carte dell'elemento acqua.
I miei obiettivi di acquisto e/o di upgrade
Scegliere una carta da potenziare o da acquistare non è una scelta uguale per tutti i giocatori e potrebbe essere una scelta migliore o peggiore in base:
- al tipo e al livello degli evocatori che un giocatore ha nella sua collezione
- alla lega in cui gioca o vorrebbe giocare un giocatore
- al budget a disposizione
Le prime carte da considerare e da valutare sono le carte di tipo evocatore.
Evocatori dell'elemento Water
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere tutte le carte di tipo evocatore dell'elemento Acqua.
Ci sono in totale 9 carte evocatore dell'elemento Acqua escludendo le varianti Alpha e Gold.
Nella mia collezione di carte ho 3 evocatori dell'elemento acqua:
- 1 Alric Storbringher di livello 5 (+ 2 BCX non combinati)
- 1 Kelya Frendul di livello 5 (+ 2 BCX non combinati)
- 3 Possibilus The Wise di livello 1
L'evocatore dell'elemento acqua che uso di più è Alric Storbringher (livello 5) anche se quando ho la possibilità di usare le carte dell'elemento Dragone preferisco usare l'evocatore Delwyn Dragonscale (livello 8) perchè ha un livello maggiore e può evocare carte di livello superiore a Alric Storbringher.
Grazie all'undicesimo airdrop Chaos Legion e ai 707 Chaos Legion Packs che ho acquistato in passato ho ricevuto 3 carte Possibilus The Wise.
Se avessi tanti fondi da investire su Splinterlands potenzierei subito Possibilus The Wise al massimo livello ma questa non è la mia condizione e quindi devo fare delle scelte.
Sono ancora indeciso ma con molta probabilità venderò le mie tre copie per acquistare altre carte perchè:
- Possibilus The Wise è un evocatore molto situazionale nel senso che può essere molto utile solo in battaglie che hanno precise regole di battaglia come ad esempio Melee Mayeem e Opportunity.
- L'abilità Trample è un'abilità molto utile nella Ruleset Stampede ma è anche un'abilità che hanno altre carte utilizzabili con gli evocatori dell'elemento acqua e utilizzare queste carte ha lo stesso effetto che utilizzare l'evocatore Possibilus The Wise
- il mio obiettivo principale relativo agli evocatori è potenziare la mia Byzantine Kitty dal livello 2 al livello 3 e quando raggiungerò il mio obiettivo difficilmente utilizzerò Possibilus The Wise al posto di Byzantine Kitty che costa solo 1 mana in più.
Fare l'upgrade degli evocatori d'acqua non è al momento una mia priorità anche perchè posso utilizzare i miei evocatori dell'elemento dragone per evocare le carte dell'elemento acqua.
Il mio unico obiettivo di upgrade è relativo all'evocatore Kelya Frendul che voglio portare al livello 6 perchè mi può essere utile quando gioco in alcune fray delle Brawls come quella nell'immagine seguente.
Ho 42 BCX di Kelya Frendul e per fare l'upgrade al livello 6 devo acquistare altri 18 BCX.
Non avendo particolare fretta ho scelto di utilizzare come modalità di acquisto la funzionalità Make Bid di Peakmonsters.
Mostri Leggendari dell'elemento Acqua
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte mostro leggendarie dell'elemento acqua che ho nella mia collezione.
La carta che uso di più è Ruler of The Seas (livello 3) ed è anche la carta che mi piacerebbe portare al massimo livello ma acquistare altre 5 copie ha un costo totale abbastanza alto e per questo motivo preferisco acquistare e potenziare prima carte che hanno un costo di acquisto inferiore.
Utilizzo molto anche The Kraken quando i mana a disposizione sono molti ma avendo come obiettivo di portare il mio Agor Longtail al livello 3 ho deciso di non potenziare the Kraken al momento perchè quando mi sarà possibile utilizzare gli evocatori di tipo dragone sceglierei quasi sempre Agor Longtail al posto di The Kraken.
La prima carta leggendaria che voglio potenziare oggi e fino al massimo livello è Djinn Oshannus.
Nella mia collezione ho 9 BCX e per portare Djinn Oshannus al massimo livello devo acquistare solo 2 BCX e spendere solo 3.30$.
Spendere 3.30$ per aumentare l'attacco magico di 1 unità mi sembra un operazione poco costosa e vantaggiosa e quindi ho acquistato subito i 2 BCX che mi servivano e per l'acquisto ho utilizzato il sito https://monstermarket.io/
Un'altra carta che voglio portare al massimo livello è River Hellondale.
A differenza di Djinn Oshannus, River Hellondale ha un costo per BCX maggiore: 4.37$.
Ho deciso di acquistare subito solo i due BCX che mi servono per portare River Hellondale dal secondo livello al terzo livello.
Tra l'altro giocando quasi tutta la stagione nelle leghe Gold potrei utilizzare River Hellondale solo con le statistiche del livello 3 anche se avessi il livello 4.
Per fare l'upgrade dal livello 2 al livello 3 ho utilizzato Monstermarket dal quale ho acquistato due BCX.
Poichè sono fiducioso che riuscirò a giocare nelle leghe Diamond ho deciso di provare ad acquistare subito altri 5 BCX per far raggiungere al mio River Hellondale il massimo livello ma voglio anche cercare di spendere meno e per questo motivo e in questo caso ho utilizzato come metodo di acquisto la funzionalità Make Bid di Peakmonsters.
Mostri Epici dell'elemento acqua
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte mostro epiche dell'elemento acqua che ho nella mia collezione.
Le carta epica dell'elemento acqua che uso di più è Tide Biter e la uso soprattutto quando la regola di battaglia è Explosive Weaponery.
Carte che uso ma meno frequentemente sono:
- Torhilo The Frozen (livello 4): in ultima posizione quando la regola di battaglia è Melee Mayhem per sfruttare l'abilità Last Stand
- Wave Brood (livello 3): quando voglio indirizzare gli attacchi avversari verso una posizione diversa dalla prima.
C'è una carta che mi piace molto ed è Lobstradamus di livello 6 perchè è in pratica un Lord Arianthus senza l'abilità void ma con un attacco magico.
Purtroppo ho un solo BCX e portare il mio Lobstradamus al livello che piacerebbe a me, il massimo livello, mi costerebbe circa 215$.
Lobstradamus di livello 6 è un mio obiettivo di upgrade ma non è un obiettivo prioritario in questo momento e ho deciso di rimandare ed è come sempre tutta colpa di Byzantine Kitty che ormai è diventata la mia ossessione :)
Mostri Rari dell'elemento Acqua
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i mostri rari dell'elemento acqua che ho nella mia collezione di carte.
Per il momento tralascio alcuni mostri che mi piacerebbe potenziare ma che costano molto come Ice Pixie e Kelp Initiate.
Ad esempio mi piacerebbe portare il mio Kelp Initiate dal livello 5 al livello 7, livello in cui acquisisce l'abilità Triage ma dovrei spendere 100$ e voglio risparmiare per arrivare al mio obiettivo principale attuale che è sempre Byzantine Kitty di livello 3.
Per questo motivo mi concentrerò sulle carte che sono per me utili in battaglia ma che hanno anche un costo relativamente basso.
La prima carta che voglio potenziare fino al massimo livello è Venari Wawesmith.
Nella mia collezione ho un totale di 71 BCX e ho bisogno di 44 BCX per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di upgrade.
Venari Wawesmith di livello massimo ha ottime statistiche di battaglia:
- 3 punti di attacco magico
- due abilità:
- Protect (utile in particolari Ruleset come ad esempio Earthquake)
- Dispel (utile in particolari Rulesets come ad esempio Stampede)
- 4 punti di velocità
- 4 punti vita.
Il costo che devo sostenere è davvero basso e quindi procedo subito all'upgrade fino al livello 8.
Un'altro mio obiettivo di potenziamento è Diemonshark e il livello a cui vorrei portarlo è il livello massimo (livello 8).
Nella mia collezione ho:
- 1 Diemonshark di livello 4
- 12 Diemonshark di livello 1
In questo caso ho deciso di fare delle offerte BID da Peakmonsters per le stesse considerazioni che ho fatto per River Hellondale.
Dato che gioco nelle leghe Gold non otterrei un beneficio immediato a portare il mio Diemonshark dal livello 4 al livello 8 perchè potrei beneficiare delle statistiche di Diemonshark di livello 6 (+ 2 punti vita rispetto al livello 4).
Per questo motivo cercherò di acquistare 78 BCX ad un prezzo inferiore e ho fatto le offerte di acquisto BID da Peakmonsters che puoi vedere nell'immagine seguente.
Mostri Comuni dell'elemento Acqua
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i mostri comuni dell'elemento acqua che ho nella mia collezione di carte.
Anche se comuni ci sono delle carte che sono davvero utili in battaglia.
Ad esempio una delle carte che uso spesso è Albatross di livello 6.
Costa solo 1 punto di mana e ha l'abilità Tank Heal.
Non esiste un'altra carta che costa 1 mana che ha l'abilità Tank Heal.
Uso molto Albatross di livello 6 nelle battaglie che hanno la regola Little League o che hanno pochi mana a disposizione.
Oggi Albatross di livello 6 costa 85$ e se non l'avessi nella mia collezione la comprerei subito ;)
La prima carta che ho deciso di potenziare è Pelacor Bandit.
Pecalor Bandit è l'esempio evidente di una carta tanto utile in battaglia quanto economica nell'acquisto.
Il motivo del suo costo così basso (2.96$ per il livello 10) è solo il numero di carte in circolazione: 1865778.
Per dimostrare quello che ho appena scritto ti mostro il confronto tra Pelacor Bandit e una carta che ha statistiche molto simili: Sabre Shark.
Quale carta tra le due è più utile in battaglia?
Quale costa di più?
Guardando solo alle statistiche di gioco Pecalor Bandit è decisamente un "must buy" secondo me.
Nella mia collezione ho:
- 1 Pelacor Bandit di livello 9 (300 BCX)
- 1 Pelacor Bandit di livello 4 (41 BCX)
Portare il mio Pelacor Bandit al livello massimo mi costa davvero poco: 0.5310$
Un'altra carta che ho deciso di potenziare oggi è Hardy Stonefish.
E' una carta che non utilizzo quasi mai in battaglia ma dal livello 7 in poi potrei farlo perchè diventa una carta interessante perchè ottiene un totale di due punti di attacco da mischia e ottiene un possibile e utile impiego nelle battaglie con pochi mana a disposizione come ad esempio le battaglie con la regola Little League.
Nella mia collezione ho:
- 1 Hardy Stonefish di livello 3 (14 BCX)
- 112 Hardy Stonefish di livello 1
Un ugrade davvero poco costoso che ho fatto subito.
L'ultima carta che ho deciso di potenziare è Deeplurker.
Una carta che mi piace molto anche perchè è una carta che posso utilizzare con il mio evocatore Daria Dragonscale.
Nella mia collezione di carte ho:
- 2 Deeplurker di livello 4 (30 BCX ognuna)
- 56 Deeplurker di livello 1
Voglio portare il mio Deeplurker dal livello 4 al livello 8, livello in cui acquisisce un punto di attacco in più e l'abilità poison.
Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di upgrade devo acquistare 104 BCX e spendere 20.8$
Ho utilizzato Monstermarket per effettuare l'acquisto e nel momento dell'acquisto ho trovato dei prezzi ancora migliori e ho speso in totale 18.649$.
Considerazioni Finali
Con gli acquisti che ho effettuato oggi ho continuato ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.
Ho adesso una collezione di carte degli elementi Fuoco, Acqua e Dragone più forte in battaglia rispetto a prima.
Sono quasi a metà del mio percorso di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte e mi manca da rafforzare le collezioni degli elementi Terra, Vita, Morte e Neutrale.
Anche gli acquisti/upgrades che ho effettuato oggi e che ho condiviso in questo post con molta probabilità non saranno sufficienti per tornare a giocare nelle leghe Diamond di Splinterlands nell'immediato futuro ma ho sicuramente fatto un ulteriore passo in avanti verso questo mio obiettivo.
