This photo was taken in Damaskus, Syria. The building is the Khan As'ad Pasha in Damaskus, Syria. It is one of the finest architectural structures in the old part of Damaskus. It was built in 1752 and funtioned as a caravan stastion. The photo shows the corridor on the second floor. A tired traveller could rest for the night in one of the rooms on this floor.
