This photo was taken in Myanmar, at Inle Lake. This region is one of Myanmar's most popular tourist destinations. It's a freshwater lake 884 m. above sea level. It's a vast, serene lake – 13.5 miles long and 7 miles wide – fringed by marshes and floating gardens, where stilt-house villages and Buddhist temples rise above the water. Surrounding the lake are hills that are home to many minorities. The only way to get around is by boat. This photo was one of many taken when I was back at the hotel waiting for dinner to get ready.
