The photo was taken in Sakya, Tibet. The town, Sakya is seen between two stupas which are part of the monestary. Sakya is a monastic town that has an important place in Tibet's history. Unlike other Tibetan cities that have white houses, Sakya's houses are grey. Before the Cultural Revolution, it was one of the largest monasteries. Founded in 1268 as a defense with walls and watchtowers.
