One of the fun things about being on hive is the variety of communities I get to be a part of. As humans, there's a natural tendency of wanting to fit in wherever you find yourself most times. On hive, I started off clueless, not having the slightest idea where to post my content but joining a few communities made my journey easier. Sometimes I explore communities and there are just so many of them. So there's definitely something for everyone. There are the popular communities like OCD, GEMS and the rest of them, of course they make the list of my favorites. They're more of a general community, so I love seeing more specific/particular niche communities.
A fast growing community I love is the @needleworkmonday community. I always look forward to Mondays when I get to see entries from fellow needle workers and learn a trick here and there to improve my sewing or learn a new DIY. I love sewing so this community is the perfect place for me to interact with like minds.
Another community I really like is the @hive-naija community. It really wasn't easy coming across fellow Nigerians on hive but as soon as the community was created, it seemed like all the bees started buzzing. It's a community where I meet people from my home country, talk about similar interests and sometimes shade the country 😄 The community just makes it easier to onboard new users too so they don't feel lost at first.
Now, I really really love @theinkwell community. I don't know if a lot of people know it already but I just have to mention it. I love the writing challenges and tips. I like that my stories are read and I get commendations and constructive criticism. It makes me write better and has helped me even in my writing jobs. I get to read amazing firsthand stories too all for free. I always show my writer friends not on hive posts from this community to encourage them to come on hive.
So that's my entry for the #hivecommunities initiative by @theycallmedan.
I have more ofcourse but for the purpose of this post, I'd say these are my top three and they're all very welcoming and supportive.
