Intro
For those new to the project, welcome. OpenSeed is a cross platform protocol and tool kit designed to help developers streamline their process by offering data persistence through the merging of on and off chain functionality. It is currently being developed by the OpenSeed team and with suggestions from the community. If you would like to get involved or would like to be a part of the conversation join our discord server by clicking here.
Development continues at a steady pace set by the two core developers currently on the team. Unlike the exhaustive list of the last development post (here) the plan is to only highlight the major changes from that post till now.
User Management
- Steem Verification: Users can now verify their account using any private key. (please use your posting key)
Administration
- Command Line Interface (CLI): Simple command line interface to manage OpenSeed. Current functions include.
- Create User (Done) : Standard user
- Create Creator (Done) : Accounts that create things (Developers,Musicians,Artists, etc.)
- Create Tokens (Untested)
- Create NFT (Untested)
- Setup: Command line utility to create and OpenSeed instance. (WIP)
NFT
OpenSeed's primary goal is to create an easy to use interface for developers of all kinds to take advantage of steem and other decentralized technologies. As such creation, management, and distribution of NFTs only makes sense. At this time OpenSeed has a standard format, and the underlining maths to create the token exists, but the interface is still being developed.
Fungible Tokens
Similar to the need for NFTs we are nearing completion of a token system that can be used by developers as an internal currency for their application. We will most likely have a token as well that can be used throughout the network. Its worth noting that we will not handle the economics of the coins created by individual developers beyond giving them the tools needed to buy, sell, and trade the tokens as per the usual standards.
Contributions
OpenSeed is being developed in the open over at github (link). However, the current code base isn't ready for deployment so for those wanting to spin up their own server we're not there yet. If you're keen on helping us reach our goals join out discord server here.
See you there!
P.S. We're currently on the steem proposal system (here) where we are asking for funding to help developers fund their projects using OpenSeed. So if you are interested in helping other applications join our steem community check it out and give us a vote.
