Today's Wednesday walk is a very popular trail in Sedona- West Fork Canyon Trail

Note: I think this would have been more fun if we were all willing and ready to get wet!
We went on a Friday afternoon and the parking was full at the trail head. There was some parking on the road, which is kinda scary as it is a two curvy, lane mountain road.
Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive, from Sedona to Flagstaff is gorgeous!
The cost to park in the lot is $12 per vehicle and we paid $3 per person since we parked on the street. There are bathrooms at the trail head, which was very nice.
I really enjoyed the first part of the trail with the fruit trees, bridge, abandon house and the gorgeous creek.

Mayhew Lodge
According the the plaque the first log cabin was built here in the 1870s in Oak Creek Canyon. The remains your see below are from a lodge that attracted politicians and movie stars to the area.

River Crossings
There are 13 river crossings on the 6.6 mile roundtrip trail. It takes 3-4 hours and we crossed 3 and were only on the trail for 1.5 hours.

I would do this trail again. I would have water shoes and have more time planned for it. It has great potential.
