Hello hello lovely people~~ My entry this week is a little late ;;-;; It was such a hectic start of the week plus I went out a little too much this week (For Pokémon and for materials checking for the business I've been planning to start. I will ramble about that probably next Monday or so. But for now, let's talk about art XD
So I went with Djinn Renova this week with the full intention of making it look like a blotchy oil painting. Unfortunately my art style isn't as compatible with blotchy as I thought. I like smooth way too much.
Duration: 3 hours
Software: Gopaint
As you can see, it still has that oil aesthetic but not entirely the kind that stands out. I like what I did with this one though ^^ it's still pretty good for a try at a foreign style
For my progression:
So starting on this, I had my sketch, my palette knife brush for the background and most of the coloring I did
Here are my base colors so I knew what to follow. I actually did so many layers this time because the oil brush tends to mix and dulls the color. Very much like its medium in real life. that's why oil paint works best with multiple layers instead of a single one to retain color. And surprisingly, the theory of use still applies to its digital counterpart 🤣
Here, I had mostly blended in my shading and whatever color I wanted to accent a little. I did use a bit of the pencil brush here and there to maintaun some sort of shape definition here.
Then I worked on the hair, I decided to give her a veil to make her more mysterious. But also because I was too lazy to draw the full face. Then the clothes and highlights + more shadows. Overall, it wasn't so different from what I usually do aside from going at it layer by layer and making use of the gaussian blur a little for the face features and shading here and there. I couldn't help it XD
This is all from me! I will drop by again in the form of waves if I still have the energy later. But this week I'm just a little lazy kitty. So I think having a resting week is good too. Next week I'll be all over the place again ;;-;; And I hope this weekend will be enough for me to recuperate.
Thank you so much for stopping by guys ☺️ I'll try to do something tomorrow! But until then, take care!
