Captain Corin Drace leads an infamous pirate crew called The Pieces of Eight. She commands eight fleets numbering almost seven hundred ships. They are the bane of Praetoria's three seas, sailing along its coasts and attacking merchant ships and merchant ships transporting goods from one port to another.

Happy weekend, How are you?, today I present you my first fan art of @Splinterlands. This is the character of Captain Corin Drace, to participate in the weekly art contest.
Feliz fin de semana, ยฟQuรฉ tal?, hoy presento mi primer fan art de @Splinterlands. Se trata del personaje de la Capitana Corin Drace, para participar en el concurso de arte semanal.
One of the reasons why I chose this character, was because I could work it with the color palette I'm using; with purple colors, at first I didn't think it would turn out well, but I dared, as an act of faith. I'm glad to finally participate in this contest, I had thought some time ago to draw taking as a reference one of the cards of this wonderful world of Splinterlands.
Una de las razones por las que elegรญ este personaje, fue porque podรญa trabajarlo con la paleta de colores con la que estoy usando; con colores morados, al principio no creรญ que fuera a salir bien, pero me atrevรญ, como un acto de fe. Me alegra poder participar por fin en este concurso, habรญa pensado hace tiempo dibujar tomando como referencia una de las cartas de este maravilloso mundo de Splinterlands.
It has really been a challenge, it's been a long time since I drew fantasy characters, especially because lately I've been painting surreal and personal works, I loved the experience.

STEP 1 / PASO 1:
Creation of the Sketch, Here I show the sketch with very clean lines of the main figure, I didn't make the background, since I still didn't have a very clear idea of how it will be. I had thought of making the strap at the beginning of the tail, but it didn't look very good so I eliminated it, and I got a little creative.
Creaciรณn del Boceto, Aquรญ muestro el boceto con lรญneas muy limpias de la figura principal, no hice el fondo, ya que aรบn no tenรญa una idea muy clara de como serรก. Habรญa pensado en hacer la correa al principio de la cola, pero no quedaba muy bien asรญ que la eliminรฉ, y me puse un poco creativo.
STEP 2 / PASO 2:
My drawing technique is to paint in black and white first and then add the vibrant colors, this way I find it easier to create the best possible details with gray tones, and then when I add purple the whole process is faster.
Mi tรฉcnica de dibujo es pintar primero en blanco y negro y luego aรฑadir los colores vivos, de esta forma me resulta mรกs fรกcil crear los mejores detalles posibles con los tonos grises, y luego cuando aรฑado el morado todo el proceso es mรกs rรกpido.
In the following image you can see in gray tones the figure and the background, all this is done under the sketch layer.
En la siguiente imagen puedes ver en tonos grises la figura y el fondo, todo esto estรก hecho bajo la capa de boceto.
STEP 3 / PASO 3:
Making details, here I proceeded to make the shadows and lights of the whole figure, as you can see and as I said in the previous step, I made as many details as possible, in grayscale.
Haciendo detalles, aquรญ procedรญ a hacer las sombras y luces de toda la figura, como pueden ver y como dije en el paso anterior, hice la mayor cantidad de detalles posibles, en escala de grises.
STEP 4 / PASO 4:
In this step, I made the background, I like to work with mountain scenery so I wanted to add it here, and as the card is about water, I also made this approach in the background. Here I started to make a better sketch of the sword, since I didn't like the previous one, so I got creative in this part.
En este paso, hice el fondo, me gusta trabajar con paisajes de montaรฑa asรญ que quise agregarlo aquรญ, y como la tarjeta es sobre agua, tambiรฉn hice este enfoque en el fondo. Aquรญ empecรฉ a hacer un mejor boceto de la espada, ya que el anterior no me gustaba, asรญ que me puse creativo en esta parte.
STEP 5 / PASO 5:
In this next step I finished making the last details in gray scale to start painting with purple tones, and I must say that I love how the sword looks now, I also worked with the hair, which for no particular reason I had not worked on until now.
En este siguiente paso terminรฉ de hacer los รบltimos detalles en escala de grises para comenzar a pintar con tonos morados, y debo decir que me encanta cรณmo luce la espada ahora, tambiรฉn trabajรฉ con el cabello, que por ningรบn motivo en particular no lo habรญa trabajado hasta ahora.
STEP 6 / PASO 6:
Add Color, I started by creating a new layer on top of the black and white layer, and setting the blending mode to overlay. Then I started with the background, painting with sunset tones, which is the other favorite thing I do when I paint, then I proceeded to paint the captain, which is what took me a little longer, choosing the right colors. and then I painted the sword taking into account the reference colors.

STEP 7 / PASO 7:
In this stage we are focused on creating more details on top of all the color layers, made in the previous step. I used textured brushes to create the simulation of the scales, I also worked on the sword adding details with other textured brushes, I also added some texture to the skin, and in the background I used a Gaussian blur filter.
En esta etapa nos enfocamos en crear mรกs detalles encima de todas las capas de color, realizadas en el paso anterior. Utilicรฉ pinceles texturizados para crear la simulaciรณn de las escamas, tambiรฉn trabajรฉ en la espada aรฑadiendo detalles con otros pinceles texturizados, tambiรฉn agreguรฉ algo de textura a la piel y en el fondo utilicรฉ un filtro de desenfoque gaussiano.

Finally I added birds in the background, and used filters such as color balance, tone and saturation, and finally in the filter gallery I used the grainy one.
