Week 281 | My Splinterlands Art Contest Entry | SPS DAO

Happy Saturday! ๐Ÿ”ฎ

Hello, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was not supposed to have an entry for this week since I got confused with the theme. But then with further research and looking at some artists' art, I got an idea of what to work on.

Now, I slept late and woke up late this morning. I was supposed to have a hike with friends, but damn. ๐Ÿ˜ซ So I made my tea and opened my laptop instead of wasting my time scrolling on TikTok. I then thought of making a simple crystal art.

So here is my entry for this week's theme SPS DAO.

Art Process

My concept for this art is cosmic. Maybe the crystal is floating in the space with the stars and comets.

I then traced the crystal just to be precise with the cuts. I used a solid pencil for the tracing and erased the overlapping lines.

I then colored the crystal with the base color of yellow. Next, I used the auto-select magic wand to select per space of the crystal. I then colored them based on the original art. I used an airbrush for a two-toned cut.

I worked on making the white reflections on the crystal. I used the screen mode and airbrush. I chose a neutral black color for the background. Next, I used a sparkle brush for the stars and a glow brush for the comet trails. I made some glows on the back of the crystal to highlight it.

I then made more comet trails using a glow brush. I want to fill the edge of the canvas by using the glitter brush. I just tried some decoration brushes if they fit the cosmic theme. Lastly, I added a noise filter to add a rough texture.
