Week 294 | My Splinterlands Art Contest Entry | Blackmoor Trickster

Hello! 🍃

I am in a 100% mood to draw when it is raining. 🥰 Is there anyone out there who can relate? I can draw all day! Thank God for the rain.

I am also happy to say that again, I got first place in Week 293. I congratulate also my fellow artists on putting in effort and time. If you want to join, check here.

For this week, I chose to draw Blackmoor Trickster.

Art Process

A very simple pose for this card but I will add some elements on the canvas to match the character. I gave a twist on the card by turning it to a female version. I used a solid pen for the lineart and used different line weights for some contrast.

I then worked on the base colors by coloring each part in separate layers. I used a special brush called erase along edge for faster work. I used hard airbrush on the clipped layers on top to create shadows and depths.

A great dramatic effect when I added the purple shadow over the character. I put all the layers in one folder and clipped a multiply layer. I used a solid brush to create an overshadow and erase some parts, especially on the chest. On top of that, I incorporated a greenish glow for contrast.

To complete the art, I added bamboo and fireflies to match the vibe. The bamboos are made through a downloadable brush. The fireflies are manually drawn using a glitter brush. I blurred out the bottom part as well as the shoulder. On top is a noise filter in a lowered opacity.

Finished art! ✨
