Night Ghoul Artwork (Enhanced version) | Splinterlands Art Contest for this week

Splinterlands Art Contest

Hello guys, how's it going? It's been a while since I participated in this contest. I was a bit busy making some entries for other contests these days. It was a limited time event so I had to prioritise that but some of them are over now and other one is ongoing so I thought I should drawing something for Splinterlands since I have enough time to participate here as well so I decided to draw an enhanced version of the Night Ghoul. Why? Because I recently watched the Venom movie and God I loved that physique of his so I wanted to apply that and transform this Night Ghoul into something more frightening and evil so here is my version.

As you can see I changed his physique and colour palette in my version. I wanted to make him look like he is evolved now and is now arising from the depths of hell to terrorise and torment his victims with his screams of doom. As for the painting style, I used the same style I used on the Swamp Spitter artwork for last week. I believe that style is better suited for characters which has good muscular definitions. I initially painted the Ghoul using the official colours but something didn't feel right so I tweaked the time curve a lot of get this shade. Otherwise I had to do the whole thing all over again and who wants that haha.

I finished the background of this painting with some lighting effects I made from scratch and applied a zooming blur on it with his mouth as the central source because it will make it look more dynamic around that area. I added one more layer of concentric lines in overlay mode and applied zooming blur on it as well to create that background. I hope you guys enjoyed the process:)
