Greetings my dear Hive community!!!
Greetings my dear Hivers!!!
Here I am again to present you, this time, the illustration I made to participate in the #Splinterlands weekly art contest.
Quite some time ago, I made a #Conceptart based on the letter of -=Queen Mycelia=- I saw a lot of potential in her Lore so I didn't hesitate to create something based on her story, here is that work.
And this week, I decided to choose again the incredible -=Queen Mycelia=-, although this time with a more "normal" touch compared to my previous creation. π€π
I really, really like this card. Although I don't own it and can't afford to buy it (maybe someday I will), I have been renting it all this time and using it all the time.
My main idea was to create something deeply dark, as I love it... but in the end, the result was not as scary as I had hoped. However, I liked it all the same. Although in my mind, I had something more "heavy", but well, there will always be another chance to achieve it. π€π

A dark and dank estate was overseen by a fearsome noble woman. She craved ever more and more, and had her slaves dig deep into the mountains that bordered her home. Seeking riches within the depths. But when no riches emerged, she became fierce and violent. Demanding harder and harder work. And the slaves dug more. And within the depths of the mountains, they unearthed a horror beyond their comprehension.
The first happening was the growth turning on the manor. Food became poisoned. Vines blocked doors and obscured windows. And spores sprouted everywhere.
Then the slaves became corrupted. Their bodies turned into hosts for parasitic fungus. Long after they died, their bodies shambled around the grounds. It was a menace that could not be controlled.

For this composition, the ideal is to use tools such as, for example, the symmetry offered by #Photoshop. This is how I made the sketch of this illustration. Although in this image you can't see it in the video you can see how it was done.
-.-

After receiving great support from this tool, I proceeded to give base colors to my sketch to have a more significant progress in my idea.
-.-

After editing some aspects in her figure, I focused on detailing different elements and I also worked on the lower part, which I will call "the dress". At this point, I added evil features on her face.
-.-

I spent time on the red spots on her head, remembering that the first time I drew Mycelia I used a fungus similar to those marks as a reference. I looked to that inspiration again to help me. Also, to give a darker touch to the dress part, I added several skulls around her.
-.-

At this stage, came the worms in her mouth, which I wanted to detail more, but, unfortunately, time did not permit me to do so. I also added the leaves around her neck.
-.-

Preparing for the end, at this point I only made some minor modifications. The most relevant thing was that I started working on Mycelia's hands.
-.-

After struggling with the position of the arms, I finally decided on the one you see, and added a skull on her hand to give her that touch of danger and evil. The rest consisted of detailing and rendering all my work better, until the end. I hope you liked my second time creating Mycelia!!! I thank everyone who always support and enjoy my art.
See you soon and have a good night!!! π€ππ
