If someone asked me why I regularly participate in Zapfic and why I recommend writers to do so, I would say that this contest (and others that deal with microfiction) introduces writers to the discipline of synthesis. As an additional prize, you get votes, reblog and maybe win an SBI. That's why I do it, and why I thank @felt.buzz for organizing it every week and @freewriters for offering their kind space for our publications.
