The pink moon sat high, painting the sky a vile fuchsia —just as prophecy foretold. The protective seals had failed.
Tyranny's ascension, Divine demise, crimson rivers of mortal blood...
Ari shivered.
He was now all that stood in Fate's path.

Hellooo -- this is my first time participating in @felt.buzz's #zapfic contest. And I thought @jayna's #fiftywords was hard! 😅
🔥 You can find the contest Behind These Blue Words 🔥
There were so many words I wanted to include. I also wanted to further the story. Who is Ari? Why does it all fall upon his shoulders? I'm left with a vignette rather than a story. An inspiring vignette though... I've been struggling to write lately so all of these thoughts are very welcome.
The prompt for this week's contest is -- fail.
I began with a very typical phrase: Failure was unacceptable. Which was Ari's thought towards saving his people from inevitable doom. After switching it around a bunch of times though, I could not, for the life of me, get it under 240 characters.
As such, it was time to transform Ari from Typical Hero to One Cursed By Fate. How else will Tyranny rise unless the current ruler falls? 😉 And at last, success in the form of under 240 characters was found, and further success in inspiration and motivation.
And there was much rejoicing!
