Welcome to my seemingly endless journey.
A trip that will take you to places I might have visited many moons ago.
It´s a tale that came back to me when I meditated on one of my past lives. A life I told you about in my unbelievable true story.
As promised in that story I will now share this story with you.

Chapter 102

The weeks that follow fly by. Kreytu and I take care of the necessary paperwork in the city, while Cabilah and Dadrie plan what is needed for clothing, dinner, and other organizational matters.
The agreement is that the ceremony will take place on the first day, leaving us two days to approach the Sikh. The few friends who will come for Kreytu are wealthy enough not to be on the list, which allows us to bring two servants. Even though this celebration has a double meaning, marriage is not allowed to come second. We all want this day to be the one they remember till the end of their mortal existence.
When we return Numico tells me about the quest he has given himself, one I doubted he will complete on time. He wants to provide flowers, something that is not common in this part of the country, as flowers are scarce here.
The thing is that flowers are a custom in the tradition of the mountain peoples, and that includes Cabilah.
He tells me how he has been scouting the area and on a one-day ride from here managed to discover an oasis where different types of flowers grow, but because the wedding will not take place for another two weeks, he has waited to pick them.
There is a clear agreement among ourselves that there will be no discussion that day about the following days. This day should only be about their connection. The alloy between the sun and the moon binds the two streams of the earth into one, one feeling. A feeling of being at home together, a feeling of belonging together, simply out of love.
They can both thank fate for being connected for this reason because it is a rare fact that two people become connected out of love. Custom often requires daughters and sons to be brought together by parents to acquire more land and prestige.
Or a man chooses one of the daughters of his father's tenants, who must agree without hesitation because their family depends on the landlord. But true happiness is with those who find each other and have the freedom to make the decision based on their feelings.
I am pleased to see Cabilah take her place in the world. Unfortunately, it also reminds me of my own loneliness. Something I'd rather not pay attention to. One day I hope to follow in the footsteps of these young people and make the choice based on the same pure consideration.
Those thoughts trigger me to doubt myself, is that really what I want? To bind my heart to a mortal being, with the risk of being hurt by death or betrayal?
I shake my head and focus on something else.
What chances would we have of entering the palace, I wonder while I walk back to the house.
Dadrie sits outside on the porch and as I am still trying to shift my mindset I ask him what he thinks, but he remains silent.
“What do you think gives us the best chance of getting an audience?” Again no answer.
I pause and stare at the staring man in front of me, eventually, he responds.
“I see no possibilities, the Sikh does not receive anyone unless it is his own wish. He is unapproachable, even during his census about fifty bodyguards ensure that he cannot be approached by anyone.”
“Census?” I ask.
“That means as much as that the Sikh once in a while sits outside on his balcony and looks at his city. Very occasionally he goes to Earth and allows himself to be carried around in a carriage. But always unapproachable to the people, only his council of general advisors are able to speak to him. And as we know, they benefit from him not speaking to anyone else. That seems clear to me.”
I nod understanding. “So, in short, you don't see any possibility?"
“That's right, but don't see me as a pessimist. You have already managed to give several impossible situations such a twist that even I am starting to believe that it is possible. But I wouldn't know how by the stones of Aka.” Dadrie laughs faintly, not entirely sincerely, but I see through that.
Even though he has found himself again, he is still not complete.
He is at the beginning of his new life, unsure of what to do with his future. Unsure of where he belongs now. No doubt that over time he will find out.
This man can do everything; he is a born leader, he stands for honesty, for peace, and justice. Qualities that this world will soon desperately need.
Now that the wedding is just days away the cogs are starting to mesh. Dinner is arranged, the clothes are ready, Numico is on his way with the flowers, and the papers are in order.
The ceremony will take place in the temple for good luck. Only Monta can't come; dogs are not allowed in the city. In addition, he has everything he wants here on the estate; he can probably spare us for three days.
