Welcome to my seemingly endless journey.
A trip that will take you to places I might have visited many moons ago.
It´s a tale that came back to me when I meditated on one of my past lives. A life I told you about in my unbelievable true story.
As promised in that story I will now share this story with you.

Chapter 38

After a moment of silence, the deep voice of the giant resounds. "My mother is such a wise woman, as you tell of. She possesses the gift of communicating with animals and plants, but also with creatures that we do not see. The great ones often speak to her and she listens, and sometimes she tells me the messages she receives."
"Before I was born, she largely knew how my life would turn out. Not that she talks to me about that. But a few nights before the accident happened in my old village, she came to sit with me."
"Son," she said, "our future will be different from what you may have imagined. In fact, when you are fully grown, I won't be there. Know that my spirit will help you when you need it. That I will be near you and never leave you alone. Believe me when I say it is possible."
"I was young, restless, and felt like she was trying to tell me how important and special I am. To take away my possible grief from the people of the village. That's why I don't pay too much attention to her words at the time."
"That day I forgot entirely until that moment that Numico, and Mart were about to leave. That night I suddenly remembered that last sentence. As if she whispers it to me again."
“Boy, there will come a day in the distant future when you'll be lonely but won't notice it. You will meet strangers who possess knowledge, strength, and courage. Consider them as friends. Follow them, for you will be at the foundation of the new world."
With goosebumps all over my body, I only dare to breathe again after a few seconds. Something about the way Rech speaks makes this story raise every hair on my body.
Still possessed by the story, beyond the fact that Rech speaks in full sentences and it has actually happened to him, there is little tension or sensation. But when I look around, everyone appears to be affected in some way.
Numico and Retsj call it a day and leave for the stables. Not completely liberated of that strange feeling, I decide to have one more drink with our host before I return to my sleeping place.
Kosa pours us both and sits down. “Martio,” he says. His eyes look at me, and there is a certain calm. “You are responsible for more than just the farm, also the new intention with which I go through life. The health of my beast of burden and, of course, that of my wife. For this, I will reward you richly, for these are things that deserve a reward."
"I cannot thank you materially for your loyalty and friendship. That would never be equal to something I can give. Anything would be an insult to our bond. What I can give you is the following – it's not much, but maybe it will help you."
"You are looking for those who destroy your village. Then you must have come a long way, because the story and the descriptions you gave me don't match any story I have ever heard of. But, I think I can help you."
"Three winters ago, I still travel a lot to sell my merchandise in different places. My trade at that time consisted mainly of trinkets; my brother took care of the land here. My brother died that winter, and I had to go home and take over the business. After a messenger sent by my wife reached me, I traveled day and night to get home."
"The fatigue became too much for me, and I fell asleep sitting on my horse. That horse began to wander aimlessly. When I woke up hours later, I had no idea where I was. The sun has not risen yet, and the clouds made it impossible for me to determine my position."
"All I could do was find the highest point to get a view of the surroundings from there. Early in the morning, I came to the top of a narrow ledge. It turned out to be the crest of a mountain, and the first light dispelled the darkness. I was days away from my home far south to travel home. Below me, I saw a pass that would take me in that direction."
"I already started to prepare for the descent so that I could continue my journey. I mounted my horse, and that is when I saw a huge plume of smoke looming in the northeast, which was not at all the direction I had to go."
"It was a strange sight that yellowish smoke against the gray of dawn. My first instinct was not to pay attention to it, but it started to haunt my mind."
"Maybe my help was needed, maybe I could save a life. I finally directed my horse in the direction of the smoke, hoping to be of some significance. Finally, I arrived at the place where the plumes originated."
"Smoldering remains of what has once been a settlement still glow in the dawn. Bodies are everywhere, brutally murdered men, women, and children – there is no distinction, all are victims. Possibly, some have escaped, because on my ride here, I found some tracks heading north."
"The entire village was desolated, not a living soul, not even animals. All stragglers seem to come from the same tribe, judging by their clothes and hairstyle. Except one. He is dressed in black and has this emblem on his shoulder.”
Kosa stands up and takes a step towards the fireplace, removes two stones, puts his hand in a dark hole, and takes out the golden flower with a black pearl.
“I search his clothes for clues,” he continues, “but he doesn't have anything. Nothing but this,” with his other hand, he produces some written parchments.
“It is in a language that those who can read and write do not know. It may all mean nothing and have nothing to do with those you seek, but something in me says that I have taken these things and kept them safe to hand them over one day. That one day is now. If you think they are of any use to you, they are yours, as a thank you for your friendship.”
I am dumbfounded. like waking up from a dream and finding out it was all true.
