Welcome to my seemingly endless journey.
A trip that will take you to places I might have visited many moons ago.
It´s a tale that came back to me when I meditated on one of my past lives. A life I told you about in my unbelievable true story.
As promised in that story I will now share this story with you.

Chapter 56

The sound died down as a man dressed in black mounted the dais. Even before his foot had left the last steps, there was complete silence, with the exception of a few animals, everything and everyone was silent.
The man turned toward the crowd. His eyes were tired, but his posture was firm. Yet it was clear that he did not exude the confidence that a man in his position normally seems to have. His eyes were set deep in their sockets and were underlined by dark bags.
They looked around the crowd and finally rested somewhere in the middle of the crowd.
“Farmers,” he paused for a moment.
“What I am about to tell you is difficult for me. This will be the last speech I will give as the Sato. As you all know, black riders entered our village and spoke to me. Their proposal is simple. This village may continue to exist, no one will be murdered, and houses will not be burned down."
"On the other hand, I will resign and we will fall under the Sharido policy in the future. They will soon explain their laws in detail to the people of Kratyo. However, they have instructed me to communicate a few things already."
"The people of this town will respond to all requests that fall within the limits of reason. All proceeds from trade, harvest, and other matters must be reported. Based on this, it is decided how high the tax to be paid will be. All claims regarding ownership of land are extinguished. From now on it will belong to these occupiers."
"Anyone who opposes these rules in any way will be punished. Anyone who does not adhere to these rules will be penalized. And anyone who is guilty of resisting these new rulers in any way will be punished."
"There will also be rewards for those who report to the new board substantiated allegations against others who break these rules. From the bottom of my heart I advise everyone to respect, follow, and follow these rules," he paused again.
He remained silent as bows were aimed left and right. Focused on the Sato, who takes his eyes off the crowd and stares at the ground around his feet, "obey." It came out softly like a sigh. He turns away from the crowd and walks down the steps. He is surrounded by black riders, who shield him from his fellow villagers.
A man, also dressed in black, but not in military gear, ascends the stone platform. At that same moment, there is a loud scream. "Resistance"' is heard and to emphasize his words, Sato raises his clenched right fist into the air.
The crowd reacts in dismay. Some follow the example and stretch their arms with clenched fists 'Resistance,' is their response. The man who has just ascended the stage looks in the direction of the Sato and nods.
The still outstretched arm with clenched fist flies several meters through the air before landing in the dusty sand. A cry of pain is clearly audible, but it is quickly muffled as the Sato's head is separated from his body.
The crowd, which just shouted, whose arms just rose to heaven, does not know how quickly to bring it down. The man on the dais turns to the crowd of people.
"I forgive you for this misstep, but your former Sato should have known better. After all, he had known us for a while. But I understand your reaction and understand that our first meeting will be a bit difficult."
His voice was smooth and cold, almost accentless, but clearly not from here. His eyes scanned the crowd, as if they knew everyone and saw what was going on in their heads.
"It's a pity that our first meeting had to happen this way, but necessary. We have no bad intentions, as long as our rules are respected we can live in harmony with each other. My name is Rash and I will replace you in the Sato take over as head of the city council. For the time being, that is the only change, the rest of the council will be allowed to stay until it turns out that their loyalty is not with the city, but somewhere else." The last sentence sounded almost hissing.
"Then I would now like to see everything return to the order of the day and to show our goodwill, as far as we are concerned, there is no need to work this afternoon. Starting tomorrow, some of my men will register who, where, and what kind of work they do. What the earnings and assets are and some other details that are needed to get a good view of the economic development here? Good day."
The man stood there for a moment, his eyes still searching everywhere for reactions resulting from the past event. Only when the crowd disperses does he slowly descend the stone steps. His eyes remain focused on the crowd until he reaches the ground. Then he disappears among the other black-dressed men towards the house that belonged to the Sato from the morning.
