Merry Christmas!
We were in Oslo on a Sunday morning 3 months ago (September 25, 2022). As were were taking pictures of the cathedral @jarvie figured out that the High Mass was starting soon so we all decided to go in.
Although we don't speak Norwegian and are not Lutheran we wanted to experience the religious culture, in Norway, in such a beautiful old building.
The Oslo Cathedral started was built in 1697, which is 325 years ago. That is so cool. Especially for a girl from Arizona which became a state in 1912.

The ceiling was really special! The center part says Gloria In Excelsis Deo or Glory to God in the Highest.
Since it is Christmas and Gloria In Excelsis Deo reminds me of Angels We Have Heard on High here is a beautiful rendition by Andrea Bocelli.

This is where the the lady spoke to the congregation.
Both Scott and I did Norwegian on Duolingo before going to Norway. We talked after the service and both said that we heard "barn" which is child. That makes since as they were probably talking about us being children of God.
It was a very neat experience to go an worship God in a church that has services so different from what I am used to. I liked it and felt a part of the people of Norway, all united in this historic building for the same purpose.
They did have an English version of the mass. I took this picture as I thought the sentiments beautiful.

What a great experience. I am so glad that we went in and worshiped with the people in Oslo.
I am now going to to church to celebrate Christ's birth and worship Him on this beautiful rainy Christmas morning in Oregon.
