Hello Hivers, I am very happy to be here sharing with you again. Today I would like to talk to you about a movie that came up in the Netflix recommendations. I thought it was another romantic comedy type story of those that I love but surprisingly it was quite far from reality.
After watching it I realized that it was in the trends of the platform and no wonder, it was a drama that I was going to like. The first thing I saw was the promotional poster on Netflix and I was delighted to see that the protagonist was Anna Kendrick famous for movies like the Perfect Note.
I also know the work of producer Paul Feig who I know from romantic movies starring women like Bride Wars, so I didn't think twice and decided to give this film a chance which is everything you thought you were going to get, but with some plot twists that leave you cold.

Hello Hivers, me siento muy feliz de estar por ac谩 compartiendo nuevamente con ustedes. Hoy me gustar铆a hablarles acerca de una pel铆cula que me sali贸 en los recomendados de Netflix. Cre铆 que era otra historia tipo comedia rom谩ntica de esas que me encantan pero sorpresivamente estaba bastante alejado de la realidad.
Luego de verla me di cuenta que estaba en las tendencias de la plataforma y no es para menos, era un dram贸n que iba a gustar. Lo primero que vi fue el poster promocional en Netflix y me encant贸 ver que la protagonista era Anna Kendrick famosa por pel铆culas como la Nota Perfecta.
Tambi茅n conozco el trabajo del productor Paul Feig a quien conozco por pel铆culas rom谩nticas protagonizadas por mujeres como Guerra de Novias, as铆 que no lo pens茅 2 veces y decid铆 dar una oportunidad a este film que es todo lo que tu pensaste que ibas a obtener, pero con unos giros argumentales que te dejan helado.

It has a duration of approximately 1 hour 56 minutes and the starring participations of Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Blake Lively and Andrew Rannells.
The soundtrack was scored by Theodore Shapiro, the cinematography was commissioned to John Schwartzman, while the costumes were designed by Renee Ehrlich Kalfus respectively.

Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) is a seemingly innocent widow who makes a vlog for housewives, she is the mother of a preschooler, her only hobby is to participate in as many school activities as possible, it is there where she meets another mother Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) an employee of a famous designer married to Sean Nelson (Henry Golding). Emily asks Stephanie the Simple favor of picking up her son from school so they become fast friends.
Over a drink or two the two make confessions to each other, until one day Emily mysteriously disappears without a trace. Her body is found days later, but Stephanie will begin to suspect about Emily's past and will investigate until she finds out the truth of what happened. Things get complicated when Sean and Stephanie begin to fall in love and move into the same house, causing Emily to return from her apparent death and unveil dark secrets from her past.

Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) es una aparente inocente viuda que hace un vlogs para amas de casa, es madre de un ni帽o en edad prescolar, su 煤nico hobbie es participar en cuanta actividad escolar sea posible, es all铆 donde conoce a otra madre Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) una empleada de un dise帽ador famoso casada con Sean Nelson (Henry Golding). Emily le pide a Stephanie el peque帽o favor de buscar a su hijo en la escuela por lo que se hacen amigas r谩pidamente.
A trav茅s de uno que otro trago las 2 se hacen confesiones, hasta que un d铆a misteriosamente Emily desaparece sin dejar rastros. Su cuerpo es encontrado d铆as despu茅s, pero Stephanie comenzara a sospechar acerca del pasado de Emily por lo que investigara hasta encontrar la verdad de lo sucedido. Las cosas se complican cuando Sean y Stephanie se comienzan a enamorar y se mudan a la misma casa haciendo que Emily regrese de su aparente muerte desvelando oscuros secretos de su pasado.

It's not my style to tell much of the story, with this film it was very difficult for me because I didn't want to tell too many details and I wanted you to live the experience. I would just like to emphasize that it is a fabulous cocktail of emotions. You never know what the movie is going to give you and that is fascinating because the plot is not predictable at all.
I understand why this novel has become a New York Times best-seller and its movie adaptation couldn't be better acted. Anna Kendrick is fantastic as a very cool mom but I feel she still hasn't been able to break out of her juvenile roles. Blake Lively is also brilliant especially her wardrobe, what a classy woman she is!
I particularly liked the chemistry between these very different actresses and how the opinion of the 2 was a bit blurred. Kendrick's character has a real fascination with Lively's character and the director managed to capture that perfectly with the crazy investigation that Kendrick undertakes to find the truth.
The humor is the big hook of this film without being the main character and that's pretty good. But the script falls short when it gets into the suspense everything happens very fast and you barely have time to analyze. But the plot twists will keep you sufficiently entertained throughout the course of the film.

No es mi estilo contar mucho de la historia, con esta pel铆cula se me hizo muy dif铆cil porque no quer铆a contar muchos detalles y que vivieran la experiencia. Solo me gustar铆a recalcar que es un fabuloso coctel de emociones. Nunca sabes que te va a dar la pel铆cula y eso es fascinante porque la trama no es nada predecible.
Entiendo que esta novela se haya convertido en un best-seller para el New York Times y su adaptaci贸n al cine no podr铆a estar mejor actuada. Anna Kendrick esta fant谩stica como una madre muy cool pro siento que a煤n no se ha podido zafar de sus papeles juveniles. Blake Lively tambi茅n esta brillante sobre todo su vestuario 隆qu茅 clase tiene esa mujer!
Me gust贸 particularmente la qu铆mica entre estas actrices tan diferentes y como la opini贸n que se ten铆a de las 2 se difumin贸 un poco. El personaje de Kendrick tiene una fascinaci贸n real por el de Lively y eso el director lo logr贸 plasmar a la perfecci贸n con la loca investigaci贸n que la primera emprende para dar con la verdad.
El humor es el gran gancho de este film sin ser el protagonista y eso es bastante bueno. Pero se queda corto el guion cuando se adentra al suspenso todo se da muy r谩pido y apenas tienes tiempo de analizar. Pero los giros argumentales te mantendr谩n lo suficientemente entretenido durante el transcurso de toda la pel铆cula.
That uncertainty is also what makes A Simple Favor the oddity that it is and makes it seem more like one of those French films that confront you with reality. Just to mention something at the beginning we see the content of Stephanie's mommy vlog, which is almost a parody of today's moms. The film's director ends up going back to Stephanie's vlog, a community that functions as an investigative and crime-solving tool this perfectly describes the jumps within the plot.
By combining elements of genres as far apart as romantic comedy and crime thriller, Feig gives a sweet nod to the fact that crime films have historically lacked female perspectives.
I have nothing left to do but recommend this film that just premiered last month on Netflix after 2 years of waiting, I'm sure you won't regret it. So do yourselves A Simple Favor and let yourselves get wrapped up in the webs of these women. My rating for this thriller will be 8/10.
Esa incertidumbre es tambi茅n lo que hace a Un Peque帽o favor la rareza que es y la hace parecer m谩s una de esas pel铆culas francesas que te enfrentan a la realidad. Solo por mencionar algo al comienzo vemos el contenido del vlog para mamas de Stephanie, que es casi una parodia de las madres actuales. El director de la pel铆cula termina volviendo al vlog de Stephanie, una comunidad que funciona como herramienta de investigaci贸n y resoluci贸n de cr铆menes esto describe perfectamente los saltos dentro de la trama.
Al combinar elementos de g茅neros tan distantes entre s铆 como el de una comedia rom谩ntica y los del thriller criminal, Feig hace un dulce gui帽o al hecho de que el cine de corte criminal ha tenido hist贸ricamente una falta de perspectivas femeninas.
No me queda m谩s que recomendarles esta pel铆cula que acaba de estrenarse el mes pasado en Netflix despu茅s de 2 a帽os de espera, estoy seguro de que no se arrepentir谩n. Asi que h谩ganse un Peque帽o Favor y d茅jense envolver por las redes de estas mujeres. Mi puntuaci贸n para este thriller ser谩 de 8/10.
