Pero en los grandes premios manda es el marketing, los que desembolsa más dinero para la promoción.
Another year again with my predictions, about the possible winners of the Golden Globes. Anyone who has reviewed my previous predictions knows that I am always wrong. Members of the Hollywood Foreign Press never award the ones I want. They are mean to me, I know. But these big awards are all about marketing and who shells out the most money for promotion.

En Mejor Película Drama tengo una favorita, me gustaría que ganara Promising Young Woman, pero es soñar demasiado. Mank y Nomadland me gustaron y una de ellas es la que debería ganar, pero cuidado, que en esta época de corrección política El Juicio de los 7 de Chicago tiene todas las características para ser la premiada: mensaje político vigente y reparto multicultural. Así quedan bien con su línea de pensamiento político de Hollywood y el premio de dirección se lo dan a una de las directoras.
El Mejor Director, estoy seguro que ganara una directora. Es el momento ideal, Tres directoras nominadas (Una de Cine independiente, una debutando como directora y otra que ya ha triunfado con documentales) contra dos Leyendas consagradas Fincher y Sorkin. Chloe Zhao es la que veo más fuerte en esta categoría, ha sido contratada para dirigir una película del universo de Marvel. Pero la Asociación puede entregar el premio a Regina King, por ser mujer y afroamericana, quedan bien con dos colectivos que actualmente tienen peso en Hollywood. Cualquiera de las mujeres cineastas que gane, se lo merece, han hecho tres estupendos trabajos. ¡Quiero que una de ellas gane! Las apoyo y deseo éxito.
Mejor Película Comedia o Musical, en esta categoría me falta varias por ver. Lanzare una moneda al aire, porque no tengo suficientes argumentos para escoger mi favorita, pero mi intuición me dice que Hamilton será la triunfadora. ( Recuerden que mi intuición siempre falla)
In Best Drama Film I have a favorite, I would like Promising Young Woman to win, but that's dreaming too much. I liked Mank and Nomadland and one of them is the one that should win, but beware, in this age of political correctness The Trial of the Chicago 7 has all the characteristics to be the award winner: current political message and multicultural cast. So they look good with their Hollywood political line and the directing award goes to one of the female directors.
The best director award, I'm almost certain, will go to a female director. It's ideal timing, three female directors nominated (one independent filmmaker, one debuting as a director and one who has already made it big with documentaries) against two established legends like Fincher and Sorkin. Chloe Zhao is the one I see the strongest in this category, having been hired to direct a Marvel Universe film. But the Association may give the award to Regina King, being a woman and African-American, they look good with two groups that currently carry weight in Hollywood. Whoever wins, they deserve it, they have done three great jobs, I want one of them to win! I support them and wish them success.
Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, in this category I have several to watch. I'll flip a coin, because I don't have enough arguments to choose my favorite, but my intuition tells me that Hamilton will be the winner. (Remember that my intuition always fails).
Mejor Actor Drama. Definitivamente quiero que gane Riz Ahmed, esta fantástico en Sound of Metal, película que no he podido hacer una reseña, pero que se las recomiendo encarecidamente. Pero deberá vencer a una bestia como Gary Oldman y la Prensa Extranjera pueden dar un premio póstumo a Chadwick Boseman por su lamentable muerte.
Mejor Actor Comedia o Musical, creo que se le darán el premio a Sacha Baron Cohen por la secuela de Borat. El está nominado también como actor de reparto en drama, pero ese lo tiene más difícil de ganar. Además, sería un premio por ayudar con Borat en las últimas elecciones de ese país.
Mejor Actor de Reparto. Este premio tiene dos ganadores Daniel Kaluuya por Judas and the Black Messiah y Leslie Odom, Jr. por Una noche en Miami. Uno de ellos recibirá el Globo de Oro. Creo que será Daniel Kaluuya el ganador. No he hecho la reseña de ese film, porque tiene un mensaje político con el que no estoy de acuerdo.
Best Drama Actor. I definitely want Riz Ahmed to win, he was fantastic in Sound of Metal, a film I have not been able to review, but highly recommend. But he'll have to beat a beast like Gary Oldman and the foreign press may want to give a posthumous award to Chadwick Boseman for his unfortunate death.
Best Actor Comedy or Musical, I think the award will go to Sacha Baron Cohen for the Borat sequel. He's also nominated for Supporting Actor in Drama, but that one has a tougher time winning. Plus, it would be an award for helping with Borat in the last election in that country.
Best Supporting Actor. This award has two winners Daniel Kaluuya for Jude and the Black Messiah and Leslie Odom, Jr. for One Night in Miami. One of them will receive the Golden Globe. I believe it will be Daniel Kaluuya the winner. I haven't reviewed that film because it has a political message that I don't completely agree with.
Mejor Actriz Drama. ¡Dios Mío! Esta categoría es Explosiva. Esta realmente difícil. Todas están excelentes, hasta Andra Day, la más débil de las cinco nominadas. Este premio se lo van pelear duramente Frances McDormand, Vanessa Kirby y Carey Mulligan. Si eligen a Kirby o Mulligan voy a saltar de alegría, no sé por qué me alegrara, ya que ellas son las que ganan un dineral y yo no, pero igual saltare de emoción. ¡Qué difícil es elegir una!
Mejor Actriz Comedia o Musical. Solo una: Rosamund Pike. No me importa que Kate Hudson cante muy bien, ni los encantadores ojos de Anya Taylor-Joy, ni la veterana Michelle Pfeiffer, ni que María Bakalova sea lo más divertido de Borat. La ganadora indiscutible debería ser Rosamund Pike.
Mejor Actriz de Reparto. Aquí puede haber una sorpresa. Yo me arriesgo con Amanda Seyfried por Mank, pero no me molestaría si se lo dan a Glenn Close. Sería un batacazo si lo llega aganar la niña Helena Zengel. Olivia Colman y Jodie Foster son fabulosas, pero han tenido mejores interpretaciones en otras películas.
Mejor Película de Habla No inglesa. Soy de Latinoamérica y para mi seria un orgullo que ganara la excelente película de Guatemala “La Llorona” de Jayro Bustamante. Yo hice mi reseña y presten atención a todas las películas de este cineasta. Ya el hecho de ser nominada es un gran premio para el film. La segunda que me gustaría que gane es Another Round, pero creo que van a preferir a Minari.
Best Actress in a Drama Oh my God! This category is explosive. It's really tough. They are all excellent, even Andra Day, the weakest of the five nominees. This award is going to be hotly contested between Frances McDormand, Vanessa Kirby and Carey Mulligan. If they pick Kirby or Mulligan I'll jump for joy, I don't know why I'll jump for joy since they are the ones who make a lot of money and I don't, but I'll jump for excitement just the same. How hard it is to pick one of them!
Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical. Only one: Rosamund Pike. I don't care that Kate Hudson sings beautifully, or that I love Anya Taylor-Joy's eyes, or veteran Michelle Pfeiffer or that Maria Bakalova is the funniest thing about Borat. The undisputed winner should be Rosamund Pike.
Best Supporting Actress. There may be a surprise here. I'm going to pick Amanda Seyfried for Mank, but I wouldn't mind it going to Glenn Close. It would be a surprise if it went to Helena Zengel. Olivia Colman and Jodie Foster are fabulous, but they've had better performances in other films.
Best Foreign Language Film. I am from Latin America and I would be proud to see Jayro Bustamante's excellent Guatemalan film "La Llorona" win. I have done my review and pay attention to all of this filmmaker's films. Already being nominated is a great prize for the film. The second one I would like to see win is "Another Round", but I think they will prefer Minari.
En el apartado de Televisión, la Mejor Serie Drama, sin discusión debe arrasar The Crown. La cuarta temporada fue todo un éxito. No sé que hace una serie como Lovecraft Country en esta categoría. Pero ¡Cuidado! Que Ryan Murphy tiene influencia y poder, pueden tener la osadía de premiar esa porquería decepcionante de Ratched.
Mejor Actor Serie Drama. ¿Cuándo se dignaran en premiar a Bob Odenkirk por 'Better Call Saul'? ¿No les basta con dejar siempre por fuera de las nominadas a la actriz Rhea Sheehorn? Una de las mayores injusticias de estos premios. Si no se lo dan a Odenkirk, el ganador debería ser Josh O’Connor por su interpretación de Principe Carlos. Lo siento Jason Bateman, pero Laura Linney fue la que se destaco en la tercera temporada de 'Ozark'.
Mejor Actriz Serie Drama. Otra categoría de fuego. Cualquiera de estas tres puede ganar Laura Linney, Olivia Colman o Emma Corrin. Quiero que sea Linney, pero Emma Corrin me conquisto como la princesa Diana. Jodie Comer es excelente en Killing Eve, pero la última temporada me aburrió y Sarah Paulson solo imita otro de sus personajes de American Horror Story. ¡Le apuesto un millón de Hive a Emma Corrin! Y no les perdonare nunca que se volvieron a olvidar de Rhea Sheehorn, especialmente porque en la paada temporada de Better Call Saul estuvo FENOMENAL!!!! No se los perdono señores de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood.
In the television section, best drama series, The Crown should win hands down. The fourth season was an unqualified success. I don't know what a series like Lovecraft Country is doing in this category. But watch out! That Ryan Murphy has clout and power, they might have the audacity to award that disappointing piece of crap Ratched.
Best Actor in a Drama Series: When will they deign to award Bob Odenkirk for 'Better Call Saul'? Isn't it enough that they always leave actress Rhea Sheehorn out of the nominees? One of the biggest injustices of these awards. If they don't give it to Odenkirk, the winner should be Josh O'Connor for his portrayal of Prince Charles. Sorry Jason Bateman, but Laura Linney was the standout in the third season of 'Ozark'.
Best actress in a drama series. Another fire category. Any of these three could win Laura Linney, Olivia Colman or Emma Corrin. I want it to be Linney, but Emma Corrin won me over as Princess Diana. Jodie Comer is excellent in Killing Eve, but the last season bored me and Sarah Paulson does nothing but imitate another of her American Horror Story characters. I bet a million Hive for Emma Corrin! ¡¡¡¡ And I won't forgive them for forgetting Rhea Sheehorn again, especially because in the last season of Better Call Saul she was PHENOMENAL !!!! I will not forgive you gentlemen of the Hollywood foreign press.
Mejor Mini Serie o TV Movie. Tiene que ganar Gambito de Dama. Si no le dan el premio, es para llevarme la contraria.
Mejor Actriz en Mini Serie o TV Movie. Las actrices este año son una batalla apoteósica. Cualquiera de ellas lo merece. El peso pesado Cate Blanchett seguro es la favorita, pero mi corazón está con Anya Taylor-Joy por 'Gambito de dama', además ella tiene sangre latinoamericana.
Mejor Actriz de Reparto en Serie de TV. Estoy indeciso entre Julia Garner por 'Ozark' y Gillian Anderson por 'The Crown'. Apostare por Anderson, aunque me encanta Julia Garner. Cuidado en esta categoría, que Murphy puede influenciar a favor de Cynthia Nixon por 'Ratched', ese no quiere que su absurda serie que profana una obra maestra como Alguien Voló sobre el Nido del Cucu, se quede con las manos vacías.
Por último , voy a deirles quien ganara un premio, absolutamente seguro: Jane Fonda. Aquí no voy a fallar, porque es el galardón honorífico Cecil B. DeMille y ya sabemos que ella lo recibirá este año.
Faltan mas categorías, por eso dejo la siguiente tabla con todas mis predicciones. Son las que yo quiero que ganen, así que difícilmente acierte en la mayoría.

Best Miniseries or TV Movie. The Queen's Gambit has to win. If she doesn't take the award, it's up there with me.
Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie. I want Ethan Hawke to win for The Good Lord Bird, his character is insane. But I'm sure they'll award Mark Ruffalo for 'I Know This Is True,' which he already won at the Emmys.
Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie. The actresses this year are a battle royale. Any one of them deserves it. The heavyweight Cate Blanchett is sure to be the favorite, but my heart goes out to Anya Taylor-Joy for 'The Queen's Gambit', plus she has Latin American blood.
Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series. I'm undecided between Julia Garner for 'Ozark' and Gillian Anderson for 'The Crown'. I will bet on Anderson, although I love Julia Garner. Watch out in this category, Murphy may sway in favor of Cynthia Nixon for 'Ratched', he doesn't want his absurd series that desecrates a masterpiece like Someone Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to come up empty-handed.
Finally, I'm going to tell you who will win an award, absolutely for sure: Jane Fonda. I'm not going to fail here, because it's the honorary Cecil B. DeMille honorary award and we already know that she will receive it this year.
