They could feel the explosion from miles away, as the earth vibrated and their feet trembled. In the middle of child birth. This was the terrifying way Jason Blaze was born to earth. Set off at the very edge of chaos. 1993, was the year, born in the peak of a bloody war. As an adult, Jason would think, and ask the stars why he was always in the middle of a commotion. Always having the odds against him. But a voice from the depth of his soul would whisper to him "You're born for greatness. You are a star".
A few days after Jason's birth, the war calmed down, security had taken hold of the town, and peace was gradually returning. The fight has been unending, rumors have it that it started centuries ago. It has always been blood for blood. Peace may return for a year, two, or three, but somehow they resumed their fight from where they left it. Someone always wanted to revenge the death of someone. Jason's father knew that this wasn't a place to live, one day he and his family may get caught up in these fights. So he decided to relocate to a distance town, where peace always reigned.
They built a life there. They lived there till Jason was eleven years of age, he made friends and was enjoying his childhood. He was so close to one beautiful little girl in particular, Jane. They played together always. One could see that they were kids in love. The parents of Jane, were very close friends with Jason's parents as well. That gave more room for them to see often. They were inseparable. On one hot afternoon, Jason's dad came back from work, earlier than usual. He normally returned from work between 6-8pm. His mom was wondering what happened. And he told her, that he had been transferred from that state to a different state entirely.
He was a civil servant, and he and his wife always knew that transfer could come at any time. He was given three days. The company had all expenses covered. His salary was raised, but he wasn't happy about the impromptu movement. When Jason was told, he cried so much, he had made so many friends that he liked. But especially Jane, he would miss her so much. The night before their journey, they spent with their friends Jane's parents. Jason and Jane could stop crying, but they were encouraged by their parents that they'll make sure to communicate.
When they arrived at their new place, everything was nice. Money was available for spending. After eleven years of trying, finally Jason's mom was pregnant again. This time around gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. And Jason completely loved his younger sister. Three years later, the country was having a very difficult time and staffs needed to be laid off. Jason's dad was one of them. He started applying everywhere for a new job, but to no avail. Until he got a job for a very small company around their neighborhood, where he was paid a very small salary. Their standard of living fell. The guitar Jason was promised, his father couldn't get for him anymore. His younger sister was also there to take care of. It was an uneasy time. The only thing that gave happiness to Jason was music. He was fourteen years of age, but loved music like he was an adult. He made friends with kids that loved music like himself, and he practiced with their guitars and other instruments.
Another three years later, Jason was 17 years old, good at playing different musical instruments and had spent time training his voice as well. He had a lovely voice. He was through with his secondary education, and gained admission to the university. His dad had no money to give to him to process his admission. They were confused. Feeding was even an issue. His mom made snacks, but also realized very small money from selling it as well. As luck would have it, his dad met an old friend of his. After work, they went out to have a few drinks, and he told him of the problems he was facing. His dad's friend gave him some amount of money to go and process Jason's admission. And Jason left home for the university. He wasn't getting enough money from home to take care of his needs, so he got a part time job. He struggled to make sure that he kept on studying
He saved some money, and went to a studio in the school to record one of his songs. That would be his first ever recorded song, he was all excited. Still believing the small voice within him telling him that "You're a star". After the recorded, he heard the song, but didn't quite like it as much as he thought he would. The recording quality was low. His voice did come out well. The whole thing wasn't just nice. And he realized that he had to make enough money to go to better studios with better equipments if he wanted to do a good music. But he kept on practicing and improving himself, feeling that one day, an opportunity would come his way.
On a beautiful Tuesday morning, he was walking to class when he heard someone call his name. He turned back, and it was a beautiful girl. She said "Jason is that you?". He walked closer towards her, and he saw her gorgeous eyes. He knew only one person with such lovely eyes. Awestruck, he said "Jane is that you?". And instantly their eyes lit up and they hugged themselves so tight, as tears filled their eyes. He couldn't believe his eyes, Jane was all grown up, and very beautiful indeed. He was two levels ahead of her, and was about entering his final year. It had been so many years ago they saw last. They talked for hours about their lives, and laughed like they were never separated. Jane's parents also relocated a few months after Jason's parents left; during the process they lost the contact of Jason's parents, and that was how they lost communication with themselves. They met everyday after classes. And their love grew stronger.
A year later, he wrote his final exams and graduated. Again, they had to go separate ways, but now, they had their own phones and social media to communicate with each other. And everyday after he graduated, they made video calls and made time to see each other from time to time. Finding a job wasn't easy at all for Jason. Deep down in his soul, he knew that he didn't want to work for salary like his dad. He wanted to do music, make some good money, someday set up his own label and live a very good life. But things weren't looking smooth months after his graduation. He decided to start going to event organizers to let him perform and they pay him anything they felt like. He would beg and beg, and some of them would let him perform. And truly he was fantastic. Before long, most of the event organizers around his neighborhood and far away, knew him and he was called regularly, but still paid small money nonetheless. He still needed big money to go to big time studios to record. He knew that you must deal with the best producers if you want your music to come out as the best.
He knew that this wasn't the dream, he needed to step up his game, he believed the voice in his head telling him that "You're a star", but didn't know how to grow beyond his current position. Lucky for him, one of the event organizers told him that a big time record label wanted to make a new signing, and he was friends with them. So he connected Jason to them and told him to perform just the way he did at the normal events and that he'll most likely get signed. Jason was thankful, but did not have the money to travel to another state to go meet the record label manager, whose contact was given to him. All the money he made from his performances, he used to take care of his family, as he also just paid the school fees of his younger sister. His dad wasn't as healthy as he used to be, diagnosed with diabetes. Later that evening, Jane made a video call with him, she couldn't help but notice the sad look on his face, even as he tried to cover his troubles up with fake smiles. After much persuasion from Jane, Jason then decided to tell her what was troubling him. She told him that she'll send him the money he needed to make the trip, and that she completely believed in his dream. Jason was short of words. And all he could say was thank you.
He made the trip, met with the manager, and sang beautifully as he played his guitar. The manager was instantly amazed at his talent. After his performance, a week past and he heard nothing from them. He started losing hope. On one peaceful evening, he was just sitting alone in his room, when Jane called him, and told him that the record label had announced his signing an hour ago. He was shocked, and asked her "how did you come to know?". And she said "go online Jason, it's everywhere. Your face is everywhere". Later on that evening, he got a call from the manager, and was congratulated. It still felt like a dream to him. The next morning, he travelled to meet the manager, all expenses paid for by the record label.
He recorded all his songs and they were released one by one. His hit single "You're a star", was nominated for several awards worldwide. He was given cars, a huge house, and paid so much money. Endorsements were coming from everywhere. Everyone loved him. He took care of his family, his dad, mom, and sister lived in absolute abundance. They were all happy, traveling to different beautiful places all over the world. He took care of the love of his life Jane. Immediately she graduated from the university, he proposed to her and they got married. Before getting on the stage the crowd would scream Jason! Jason! Jason!. And that voice in his head would whisper once again to him "You are a star".
