I have been knocking but she has refused to open the door or even answer. I am worried about her
Raymond is Miles fiancé. They have been together for three years. Every year, Miles shut herself in her room from 12am to 12am the next day. Raymond had asked Miles why she does that every year but she has refused to give him an answer. This year, Raymond was determined to really know what Miles was up to every year. He called Mile's father to report the situation.
Mr Mike who is Mile's father asked Raymond to come over for a little chit chat at his residence. Raymond was there as planned. "What is today's date?" Mr Mike asked. Raymond replied and said "25th of march". " That is the answer you need" answered Mr mike. Raymond was confused. He didn't understand why a date would be an answer from a father whose daughter was behaving very strangely. He however kept his cool. Mr Mike narrated that it was going to be the happiest day for everyone in his house if not that tragedy struck. He however told Raymond to go back to Miles and let her explain the situation to him.
Angrily Raymond stood up and left and headed straight to Mile's house. This time he wasn't going to take a silent treatment for an answer just like the previous years. He got into the house and went straight to Mile's room. He banged on the door and still they was no response. In anger he kicked the door so hard and it opened.
He was shocked to see Miles in a dirty looking wedding dress. He couldn't believe his eyes. He went closer to see if it was his fiancé he was seeing. And yes, she was the one. She was lying on her bed crying. The floor was filled with used tissue papers. He didn't know what to say at this point. He couldn't find his voice. Somehow he summoned the courage to talk.
"What is going on Miles? Why are you in this dirty dress? What am I missing? How did you even get such an outfit? "
Miles was silent . More tears dropped down her cheeks. She turned her face away from Raymond. Raymond couldn't hold himself. Here he was, filled with emotions. Looking at the woman he loves crying in helplessness. "Miles, you need to talk to me. I need to know what is going on. For the past three years you have been in this state. And at this point, I am tired. If you don't open up to me, then consider this relationship over".
" Please leave and never come back to me. I can't do this anymore". This wedding dress was suppose to be my best dress. 25th march was suppose to be the best day of my life. He promised to make me his wife on this day. He promised that this day will be forever memorable. Oh yes it is still memorable. She said as tears rolled down her cheeks. I didn't know he was set to marry another on this same day. Why did he fix this day for us when he knew he was going to marry another. And do you know who he married? My best friend. The only friend I have ever held dear to my heart.
This day every year, I cry out my heart. I console myself and try to let go of this hurt. It hasn't gone away ever since.
Raymond held her and kissed her tears. " I will never break your heart. Get this dress off. You are walking down the aisle this minute with me. Miles was dumbfounded. "Shhh don't say anything". Let's go. They head out.
