Earth day Art Therapy

For earth day, I decided to practice making video of my process. I was inspired by the ability of the artist to build landscapes out of thin air. Using a very spontaneous technique, I take you along on a journey of growth, using woodless charcoal pencil.

It is a very different experience making tutorials where the hand must not block the view. I have found that my setup needs work, starting with my wobbly easel which I had to hold when I was erasing.

The Earth is an endless source of inspiration, it is the one thing worth protecting as it is no secret that our presence as a species is having a marked negative impact.

I focus my activism on nuclear energy, I believe that it is rubbish and that it is the one thing that can make it really hard for other life to emerge once we (at this rate) go extinct.

My drawing is not about nuclear power, but I certainly had my beautiful blue orb in mind as I was enjoying its creation. I feel protective of it above anything else. My planet is my religion.

I think the idea of: eraser as tool, is important in this picture as well as freedom to be messy. There is always room for improvement but I am proud of my time management overall with 20 minutes actually drawing. After edit the video is a fourth of that length.
