Kristofer Lehmkuhl is the origin of the name of the school ship «Statsraad Lehmkuhl», and this means that Kristofer Lehmkuhl was a minister in a government, and he placed Bergen on the world’s maps, and therefore many people around the globe were interested in what he did, and he had an amazing challenging, competing and strong family with Joakim, his son, educated as an engineer from Harvard and MIT, and when you have such strong roles and education backgrounds this will mark you and the other people being together with you for a long time. And the more we know, the less we know. Reading the library at Harvard and MIT makes several questions, and if the readiing has an effect on you, you are rising several questions, and this is often the problem at the lectures in these schools, and the students coming from different countries with different flags, do not have the properly foundation for making things in thinking in the schools in the United States. And we should not be a copy doing everything as anybody else, but we should manage the literature, and we should think in new ways, where the business life should be in the future.
Kristofer Lehmkuhl made many inventions for Bergen, and among all things it was the introduction of the school ship «Statsraad Lehmkuhl», and this is the most important school ship in Norway. And only the royal yacht has higher status in Norway. Being with the king and the queen in Norway is making the highest status of what is happening. And there are two things with Kristofer Lehmkuhl with NHH in Bergen. The first thing is that there is a statue of him outside the main building. And the other thing is organizing all the lectures you can imagine and make imaginations within. And the lecture in memory of Kristofer Lehmkuhl can be held about anything for instance: «How the bank structure is making the most and best uses for the business life», «On selling Norway’s product at home and abroad» and «On making all the politics for the organizations as they need». And we can also find other ways of holding this lecture, and it is held every autumn at NHH in Bergen, and the person holding this lecture is often a person having power in the organizations and in the markets. This lecture can be about everything in Economics, in Business Administration and in Philosophy.
Kristofer Lehmkuhl graduated at Bergen Cathedral School, and he took the cand.philos.-exam in Christiania. He was elected in the Bergen council in the period 1893–1901, elected in the Storting from Bergen in the period 1904–1906, og minister of labour and social affairs in Christian Michelsen’s government for Coalition Party in the period 1905–1907. Kristofer Lehmkuhl was director for Det Bergenske Dampskibsselskab 1908–1936. As a merchant he was engaged with trade with herring, stockfish, clipfish and cod liver oil on the north coast as well as from Iceland. He participated in 1879 in the foundation for Selskabet for Norske Fiskeriers Fremme. And in 1902, Kristofer Lehmkuhl was engaged to be stock exchange commissioner for Bergen, and that was a position he held for life.
Anyone being engaged with sailing, can be employed as in temporary or fixed position at «Statsraad Lehmkuhl». And we can also be minister of any kind, since we have the long education for it, and the research background coming from NHH and SNF in Bergen. And sometimes the minister, the prime minister, and the departments are making and taking silly decisions for organizations and business life, and we should make corrections on that if we have the right solutions. And anyone cannot blame us for being too clever and talented and filled with knowledges of any kind in life, because we have much responsibility when having competence, and we should use it. And many teachers and principals that we know, and ordinary people are not having the competence to do many things. And the more we know, the less we know for sure. And anybody cannot do what we are doing, because we have knowledges acquired through many years, and we should not accept bad things in the organizations, but we should make them as strong and as good as possible. And we make the choices ourselves in our lives. But only the BEST persons are going in Bergen at NHH and at SNF, and therefore we should be friends with anyone there, and we should be pleased with these people giving the opportunities to us, and we should ignore negative and bad people, and they are responsible for what they are doing in life. And life is making choices with doing things, and not doing things.
