I think the first and most resounding stereotype so far (after the massive emigration due to the terrible administration of this government that has little more than 20 years in power) people have of us and which in my opinion is wrong is that we are cowards. This is because even at this point we have not been able to get out of this situation. And we have not really come out of this situation, it is not because of our lack of courage, since we have come out many times to protest to recover our democracy, our country. And all those times have been failed because we are the people vs. the armed forces. And not only that, but the opposition politicians are corrupt allies of the government. The same people who most of the times lead the marches are the same ones who have treaties under the table with the government and the military. We are not cowards, we only get tired sometimes of seeing all that aforementioned scenario where the result is thousands of Venezuelans killed while all of them get richer.
Creo que el primero y más resonado estereotipo hasta ahora (luego de la masiva emigración debido a la pésima administración de este gobierno que tiene poco más de 20 años en el poder) que tienen de nosotros y que en mi opinión es errado es que somos cobardes. Esto se debe a que aun a estas alturas no hemos podido salir de esta situación. Y realmente no hemos salido de esta situación no es por nuestra falta de valor, ya que hemos salido muchísimas veces a protestar por recuperar nuestra democracia, nuestro país. Y todas esas veces han sido fallidas debido a que somos pueblo vs fuerzas armadas. Y no solo eso, sino que los políticos opositores son unos corruptos aliados al gobierno. Los mismos que lideran en la mayoría de ocasiones las marchas, son los mismos que tienen tratados por debajo de la mesa con el gobierno y los militares. No somos cobardes, solo nos cansamos a veces de ver todo ese escenario anteriormente mencionado donde el resultado son miles de venezolanos muertos mientras todos ellos se hacen más ricos.
Another resounding stereotype is that Venezuelans are thieves and women prostitutes. This is because a considerable number of people who have emigrated from the country have stolen in their country of destination and women who have dedicated themselves to such a thing, which has created this bad reputation for us. Personally, I do not support the act of stealing, prostitution or that they lock us all in a box because of the mistakes of some. I mean, millions of people emigrate every day, among those millions there are good and bad. It is our case. It is not our fault that a group of people acted in such a way. There are still a great number of honest Venezuelans, hardworking, casts ahead and always trying to stay happy even in adversity. And brother, we have a lot of decent and beautiful women. So I think this stereotype they have of us is wrong.
Otro estereotipo muy resonado es que los venezolanos somos ladrones y las mujeres prostitutas. Esto se debe a que un considerado número de personas que han emigrado del país han robado en su país de destino y mujeres que se han dedicado a tal cosa, lo cual nos ha creado esta mala fama. En lo personal no apoyo ni el acto de robar ni que nos encierren a todos en una casilla por los errores de unos. Digo, a diario emigran millones de personas, entre esos millones de personas hay buenas y malas. Es nuestro caso. No tenemos la culpa de que un grupo de personas actúe de tal manera. Todavía quedamos en gran número venezolanos bondadosos, amables, honestos, trabajadores, echadores pa’ lante y siempre tratando de mantenernos alegres aun en las adversidades. Y hermano, tenemos muchísimas mujeres decentes y hermosísimas. Por lo que creo que este estereotipo que tienen de nosotros es errado.
A third stereotype they have of our country is poverty. We are a “poor” country as a result of the terrible administration of this nefarious government. But at the same time we have wealth in our land. And while it is true that there is a great impoverished majority due to the aforementioned, there is also a part of our population that managed and manages not to be part of that great majority because in their own way they have maintained or have harvested fortunes or assets that go up to thousands, hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars.
Successful businessmen, entrepreneurs, we have artists who make the mark nationally and internationally, Individuals who have put together their assets with effort and dedication, and without resorting to illicit acts.
Un tercer estereotipo que tienen de nuestro país es la pobreza. Somos un país “pobre” a consecuencia de la pésima administración de este nefasto gobierno. Pero a la vez tenemos riquezas en nuestra tierra. Y si bien es cierto que hay una gran mayoría empobrecida debido a lo anterior mencionado, también hay una parte de nuestra población que se las ingeniaron y se las ingenian para no formar parte de esa gran mayoría pues a su manera se han mantenido o han cosechado fortunas o patrimonios que van hasta los miles, cientos de miles y hasta millones de dólares. Empresarios exitosos, emprendedores, tenemos artistas que dan la talla a nivel nacional e internacional, personas particulares que han juntado su patrimonio con esfuerzo y dedicación, y sin recurrir a actos ilícitos.
