“To other countries, I may go as a tourist, but to India, I come as a pilgrim.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
The remarks does spell a great insight about the country where I grew up and I feel proud to be an Indian. I always get an awesome feeling whenever I hear people say how traveling in India has changed them for life.
On Hive @riverflows @eco-alex @justinparke @bubke @worldcapture @joythewanderer and many others have made a trip down under and simply adores every ifs and bits about India*. (hope I am not wrong). Whether it relate to Yoga, Sprituality, Humanity, Ayurveda or Food or Ancient Palaces or anything else. It's a total experince that one can get on their first visit to India, which never get out of their mind.
As I grew up in India, the 7th largest democracy of world, I get to see many aspect of life. Multiple culture, multiple language, multiple religion, and variety of food item, different festivals and above all the unity in diversity**.
It is quite hard to mention any specific thing that I love about my country but here are few points in response to @abundancetribe cross culture contest
Beautiful India
If you’re looking for reasons to love India, then this one is one of the biggest ones.
When, I say India is beautiful, I am not relating with any striking surface beauty that many other country have, like those of snow capped mountain, beautiful lake or other scenic spots. India does have many such awesome places to visit.
However, if you stay in India, you will see a totally different beauty, that gets under your skin over time. Some of the best travel stories across the globe come from my country. And why not so, because of the love and warmth that every person have. I grew up in a society where people were quite friendly, even if they dont know you they simply make you feel comfortable. People were in a hurry, but still they greet everyone with smile (except in case of goons)
There are stories in every lane of India, the people you’ll meet, the experiences you'll collect while travelling in India will never happen anywhere else in the world. That’s what’s so beautiful about it.
Land of Celebration
When it comes to celebrate any occasion , I think my country is best place to be. Be it festival, wedding, birthday,or anything, we just makes best of the opportunity.
We have 40 odd festivals to choose from. Well known of them are Diwali and Holi. Even hardcore enemies get friendlier on these occasion. Getting out on roads and burning crackers during diwali or playing with different colors on Holi. You cannot skip anyone of them.
The week long family tradition of weddings celebration, where every guests becomes a member and always ready to give their hand. The families, friends and relatives everyone becomes one.
Different Season
Where else you will find the variety of weather. While some of the countries are affected by extreme heat, at the same time few countries are chilli g under huge snow beds.
In India we have the advantage of enjoy each and every weather as we like. From Extreme heat of summer to cool breeze of winter. Dancing in the rain and enjoy the rhythm. Indian a land of fantastic weather. Be at any state and you will easily experince any weather condition.
Delicious Cuisines.
Be a Veg lover or Non veg or you are vegan lover, you can experince every kind of food.
Indian spices are famous all over the world. And our delicious are savoured everywhere.
Where else you will get to eat your food with hand. Forget forks, knives, spoons, and chopsticks. Just use your hands! Our traditional approach of eating food is best way to eat. It’s said that it really connects you with your food, as it allow to feel the texture, the heat, and the different foods on your plate before bringing it to your mouth.
Land of Uniqueness.
Goats on a motorbike. A monkey on the highway. A cow crossing a bridge. Greeting a foreigner to take a selfie. Sitting in the Train door and embrace the wind as the train speeds along the tracks.
Where else you will get to experience such thing. It is the common for many but quite entertaining to have such a sight.
My country has a soul. It’s the heart of the world. It gives, and gives, and gives, and makes us feel special. My country makes us feel alive.
Peace
