Abundance Tribe Evergreen Collection #9: Breathing Life Into Paid Out Posts

Evergreen Collection 1 9.png

There are so many good posts which are enjoyed so fleetingly, or perhaps not at all. Maybe it was published before you joined Hive or not yet following that author? Or that was the week you were fasting in a yurt in Mongolia without wifi? Life happens and the 7 day post rewards window is short. Many would say too short. There are also just so many reasons why a post is overlooked, forgotten or received less reward than it should have: autovoters were down, token price crashed, or it was another Hard Fork within moments of you pressing 'publish".

Abundance Tribe is curating the Evergreen Collection every week to breathe life back into paid out posts.

Hive is so much more than just a 7 day rewards slot machine: it's a repository of knowledge and culture and community which has lasting value. All of these articles were created to inform us, inspire us and motivate us to become more aware in our daily lives. Life is all about learning, evolving and being mindful in all that we do. By coming together and engaging with one another we can all share our wisdom and empower one another. We can create the world in which we all wish to live. Happy reading and remember to show your appreciation by upvoting and commenting. Please FOLLOW @abundance.tribe and reblog our content liberally. It helps. You can go one step further by following the TribeVibes Curation Trail, this way way you are supporting all the great authors who are creating quality content.

Each one of the 5 authors "evergreened" each week will be a 10% beneficiary of the rewards on our Evergreen Collection post. Additionally, we invite you to tip them liberally.

Kick back. Enjoy. Think. Feel. Engage. Support!

I believe in holy things - Part 1: A visit to a Buddhist temple
Evergreen1.jpg

I figured I could learn something about Buddhism and meditation, and help out somehow. Many others go to Tham Krabok for their highly effective drug detox program. People stay in there for 15 days or longer, in very basic accommodation, learn some good work habits, and take a foul-tasting medicine which is literally vomit-inducing. The emetic medicine was invented by the temple's founder, Luang Paw Yaai, and it is a concoction of many herbs designed to be purifying for any constitution. It's called "yadaat", the cutting medicine. "It cuts your mind, your ego, your body, anything that needs cutting will be cut," they told me. I didn't go there for treatment, but I was curious about yadaat. Read more

Flying High Over Cebu in Open Cockpit
Screenshot 481.png

Last year I went up in a Gyrocopter flying over the Island of Cebu in the Philippines. I have since become good friends with the piot , Yohann, and he is in the process of moving his operation to our side of the island. I can hardly wait to get back up in his little whirly bird and I will be posting some footage of our flights again as we plan to fly to the Volcano Mt Kanlaon in Negros. Here's the clip from my first flight. Read more...

Autobio – my conscription dodge
Evergreen4.jpg

I arrived at the military base in Cape Town on the morning of my conscription in my saffron robes and shaved head, and slippers. It was a fasting day, I remember, we had them every fortnight, called Ekadasi – the 11th day of the lunar cycle. Since it was a day to fast, I had only been eating raw fruit, if anything. My ashram head teacher dropped me off with the temple car, and I went into the military base. Read more...

My First Cookbook is Live on Amazon!

It really is such a fantastic time to be able to actually get your content out there without having to get signed on by a publisher. I don't expect to sell tons of copies, especially on my first attempt, but it is still really neat to be able to market it for people I know who find value in having an actual book in hand.
