Truthfully, I feel no one can categorically define wholesomeness in a general term because I believe uniqueness of individuality to each and every human being on our planet earth is this reason why this is so, however every perception is important because different people at one time or the other will experience what it feels to be whole and that peculiarity is what makes it beautiful. In my own situation I feel being whole is something that's close to attaining an Inertia; a state where you're almost near perfection and at peace your spirit, soul and body.
I might have never experience wholeness or the process of being whole but then it expands beyond the physical conformation. For some people experiencing spiritual revival brings wholesomeness and believe me this can be life changing. When I say spiritual revival, there's a way a person comes in contact with their creator, it can be through prayer, it can be a through meditation, but that act of spiritual edification which is realised by the human mind brings a certain kind of rest which in turn causes a person to feel loved, a sense of purpose or gratification which in turn makes one feel whole.
Now apart from a spiritual experience, let's understand that having sound health after being in danger of capitulation or death can cause one to feel whole. People generally do not appreciate a sound health condition and they only do when they're stripped of it by ill health. I was in the hospital for about 3 weeks looking after my mother who suffered severe stroke. In the process of looking after her, I fell sick myself and was given a separate bed, for a week I was only exposed to the horrid smell of injections, vomit and I wasn't even allowed to go outside. After leaving the hospital after weeks of staying there, the first time I felt the air on my body and saw the sun after a long time I felt completely whole.
I felt revitalised and it seemed like I was alive after a long time. Now this feeling of being free, using my body and feeling my organs functioning well was divine and it made me reach a stage of wellness, not just mentally but physically. Now another meaning to being whole is having a sense of contentment and attaining one's goals in totality. This may seem strange but then it's totally true. In life everyone hopes to become an achiever and that's why we set goals and hope to actualise them. However chasing after one's goals for a long time without accomplishing them makes one unwhole.
For some people, it's not reaching the pinnacle of their career. There's always a feeling of satisfaction when we look around us and feel blessed, lucky to have what we have and feeling deserved of it. In reality this can be having a nice family, a well paying job and of course rest of mind. Mind you, being materialistically accomplished contributes to a person attaining a height where their needs and desires will reach diminishing returns and this will in turn bring a feeling of being whole. Like I said earlier, everyone attains wholesomeness in a unique way and in different it means a lot to us individually.
