Mercury is “cazimi” as I write this, meaning that the planet Mercury is conjunct the sun, or transiting the sun. It means that astronomers can see with a telescope, the planet Mercury crossing like an eclipse, across the face of the sun, directly between sun and earth. And today it is doing this in retrograde motion, which is with Mercury within the sun’s orbit. On its opposite direct motion transit of the sun, Mercury’s path is behind the sun, so to speak, from our point of view.
This may all sound foreign, unless you are an astronomer or astrologer. Nevertheless, the word “cazimi” literally means “in the heart” of the sun. Or “on the throne of the sun” is also a metaphor used. It’s the few hours in which Mercury is at the most precise conjunction with the sun as they pass each other in the cosmos, from our point of view.
This moment is alleged by astrologers to be an auspicious one for communication or bright ideas. Even genius is possible. A baby born during this particular hour will possibly be a genius of sorts. Mozart might be an example. He could play piano really expertly from the young age of three or four, or thereabouts.
So at this point right now, at the start of the next cycle of Mercury in relation to the sun, as this inferior conjunction (inside the sun’s orbit) is called, I hereby invoke all the auspicious good vibes and insights needed to manifest some genius ideas and communication. I envision lost treasures rediscovered. That could be figurative or literal, or psychological, since many treasures are those of the mind or more particularly those of consciousness.
Heightened states of consciousness are attainable by those who know the techniques to invoke them, like the Buddhist or Vedic meditation techniques or your own chosen practice, that one can learn from the ancient texts. Another possibility now is profound dream recall, where we tap into our own personal unconscious or even the collective unconscious, the realm of the archetypes, to obtain their mysteries.
Great inventions, solutions and remembrances can occur via our dreams. Also within our DNA, which is symbolized in Mercury’s caduceus, we have massive potentials, obtained by our ancestors and stored up there often untapped. At times like this we can call upon those skills. We can awaken our dormant DNA talents, based on this particular birth in this particular gene pool.
The soul would be considered transcendental to the body and its DNA, but right now it is housed within the body/mind vehicle that has these particular qualities and traits. And as we learn how to unravel our tightly wound DNA strands within ourselves, we can access the skills inherent within us.
And we unravel the DNA by meditation or visualization, getting into the right brain wave frequencies, and by being in the right emotional or psychological mindset. If we feel the right emotions, like compassion, love and gratitude, then we receive reciprocation on a cellular level, and our best talents naturally emerge.
I may be simplifying the process somewhat, but that’s what it boils down to. Our helpful tool is frequency, or music, particularly 432 hertz sounds, as opposed to the 440 hertz that the world currently uses to produce music in general, or create concert pitch. Originally concert pitch is 432 hertz or cycles per second, for A on the music scale. It’s a small subtle difference but an important one.
Let’s get back in tune ourselves. We are all like musical instruments and we can get off key or vibrate at a bad frequency sometimes. Stress can cause this. So to get back in tune, attuned to the earth once more, we can simply sit peacefully in nature ideally, and become contemplative, or prayerful or meditative. With practice we can really bring our frequency back to its best state of vibration, centered at the heart.
And this brings me back to cazimi. Or Mercury at the heart of the sun. Now is that time on the planet, so I invoke now a future where you and I and the whole world goes into a state of harmony, and vibrates with a mood of compassion and love for ourselves, our dear ones and for all mankind.
It’s not a lot to ask for, merely peace on earth and goodwill to all humanity. That’s all. And now is the time in which I invoke this miraculous treasure of an experience. I envisage the healing of the nations, healing of the psyche of society. That is my prayer for the world right now, and for all of us. So be it.
