The Highest Form Of Self Love - Embracing The Journey! -Abundance.Tribe's BiWeekly Question

Everyday, I am trying to get better at being more loving towards myself. I am trying to get better at letting go of the guilt, that come, when I want to take time for myself. Because if we are going to get through this huge transition, this transition that the whole world is facing, we need to stand in our power. We need, to be ready to embrace change.

Most of us have been brought up with the idea, that putting yourself first, is a selfish act. I personally, have struggled with that for a long time, because in a way we have been told that we are here to serve others. That success, is something that is achieved by meeting the needs and demands of others, it is certainly not something that you achieve by focusing on yourself. Success is all about climbing that ladder, that has been strategically placed in front of you!

So we grow up, with our focus mostly being aimed outwards, listening for cues and tips on how to thrive. Never quite making the connection, that we can really thrive, that we can soar, when we listen to ourselves, our true self.

So what happens when you listen to yourself, how do you talk to yourself, what language do you use?

Most people think of treatments and taking time out, as being perfect examples of self love and they are certainly important. Because, there is always a feeling of whether or not you are worthy, when it comes to allowing yourself to receive.

But for me, over the years, I have realized, that it is how I talk to myself, that has the biggest impact and is perhaps one of my highest forms of self love. When I am supporting myself and accepting myself.

When I take to time to work on my thoughts, on the many doubts and guilt that I have experienced down through the years. So that over the years, I have been able to change my personal narrative, I have been able to see and acknowledge the divine within.

To be able to do this, without seeing it as my ego speaking. But to strip myself back, to connect with each part of who I am. To embrace my inner wounded child and my stubborn younger adult. To see how they have allowed me to become who I am today.

Each day we have conversations with ourselves and some days are better than others. Especially during this time, when we face so many of our freedoms being taken away from us. But each day, we get to decide how we can be the best version of ourselves.

This starts with how we talk to ourselves, how we acknowledge ourselves and our ability to let go.

My journey of self love, a journey that is ongoing, has been tough. It has led me to places, where I have felt so alone and so unseen, until I begin to heal. Until I was able to accept what I was going through, what I had gone through and acknowledge that all of this pain, has carved me into who I am.

In those moments, I have let myself feel, freely. I have welcomed the anger and the frustration,I have let them in, so that they can then leave. It wasn't easy, but it was so necessary. To feel and then let it go.

This to me, is another form of self love. To allow yourself to feel, to express, to be real. To not feel caged in, by the many restrictions that society has placed on us (and that is even before, we got to where we are now!).

It's hard to pinpoint just one thing that could be the highest form of self love, we are complex beings, our needs change all of the time. Self love, is a journey, that encompasses many things. Being true to yourself and accepting who you are. Checking in on the way, in which you converse with yourself and taking the steps to break any thought patterns that hold you back.
