With this post I present a photo of a mural, painted on the façade of a house. I find this paint quite interesting and representative of the city of Antofagasta (where this mural is located). As you can see the painting shows an old train (steam locomotive) crossing the desert
Antofagasta is located at the coast of the Atacama desert in Chile. The mountains shown in the painting are the mountains that are along the border of the city . You can see that the locomotive is transporting minerals. The main economic activity of city is related with mining. A great part of the minerals of the north of Chile are exported from this city.
En esta oportunidad presento la fotografía un mural callejero, sobre la fachada principal de una casa, lo que lo hace bastante inusual y al mismo tiempo ilustrativo de la ciudad de Antofagasta.
Como pueden ver el mural muestra una locomotora a vapor cruzando el desierto. Este mural se encuentra en Antofagasta, que es una ciudad ubicada en la costa del desierto de Atacama , las montañas de la pintura son los cerros que bordean la ciudad. El tren está transportando minerales, vale la pena mencionar que buena parte de los recursos minerales del norte de Chile se exportan por esta ciudad.
