Cada semana el equipo de #Humanitas intentamos promover la reflexión en torno a lo humano en sus diferentes modos, con el propósito de que las personas conozcan la comunidad, como un lugar donde poder expresar tus ideas, puntos de vista, reflexiones de cualquier saber en relación con lo humano. En esta semana abordamos la posibilidad de reflexionar sobre la utopía, pero más que definir lo qué es una utopía, se trata de intentar trazar una aproximación, pero si deseas saber más sobre la iniciativa solo pincha aquí. Sin más preámbulo, quiero esbozar sobre una visión utópica desde mi punto de vista de la sociedad.
Como bien sabemos la utopía es el no lugar, o eso es lo que viene a significar etimológicamente. A lo largo de la historia humana ha habido muchas propuestas utópicas de sociedad, ya que pensar en una utopía es básicamente pensar en una sociedad humana ideal. Si no me equivoco fue Tomás Moro quien usó por primera vez la palabra utopía, en su famoso titulado “Utopía”, no pretendo equiparar mi reflexión a la suya ni mucho menos, pero intentaré proponer mi visión de lo que podría ser una sociedad ideal.
Construir todo una cosmovisión social de manera utopía es todo un reto, porque son demasiados elementos a considerar, pero intentaré hacer lo mejor, expresarme de una manera clara y distinta. Cuando pienso en la construcción de una sociedad utópica, lo primero que viene a mi mente es la organización urbanística. Considero que una buena organización social es uno de los pilares fundamentales. Geométricamente hablando, el hexágono es la figura que mejor utiliza el espacio, y la naturaleza nos lo demuestra, lo vemos claramente en los panales de abejas, pues mi ciudad utópica estaría conformada por distritos, cada uno en forma de hexágono y juntos un número determinado de celdas conforman la ciudad autosustentable.
No sé si conozcas la idea de la “ciudad de los 15 minutos”, a mi me resulta interesante (más adelante hablaré de ella), este proyecto de ciudad creo que se aplica bien a sectores no muy extensos ya que la ciudad de los 15 minutos básicamente defiende como premisa principal que toda persona tenga acceso a las necesidades esenciales en menos de 15 minutos caminando de casa.
Acá quiero dejar en claro que, como todo estará relativamente cerca, contaremos con servicio de transporte público gratuito por las 24 horas, no habrá necesidad de vehículos a combustión, se propondría un sistema de ciclovías para bicicletas y scooter eléctricos.
A continuación les dejo estos bocetos un poco cutres, (sabrán por qué no estudié arquitectura) de cómo imagino los distritos, cada uno de ellos sustentables energéticamente hablando. Me gusta pensar que una ciudad estará compuesta por entre 10 y 15 distritos conectados, como una especie de panal, y alrededor poder tener campos con cultivos inteligentes, y granjas-laboratorio para la producción de los alimentos que serán distribuidos entre sus distritos. Con respecto a los suministros de agua, la ciudad contará con un servicio sustentable del vital líquido. Pienso que en el futuro tenemos que poner toda la tecnología debe erigirse al servicio de la humanidad y no en servicio de la riqueza y el poder.
Y ya que hablamos del poder, quiero ahora exponer mis ideas en función de la política, la educación y los valores sociales en mi utópica ciudad hexagonal. Primero hablemos de política. Ya la historia se ha encargado de demostrarnos cómo no hacer política, ya que hemos cometido tantos errores que sin duda alguna hay que cambiar nuestro modo de pensar la política.
Sería interesante pensar la política desde la tecnología blockchain, ya que pudiésemos construir todo un sistema descentralizado. Cada ciudad con su sistema blockchain, y cada distrito con su propio nodo. Sería interesante profundizar en este aspecto, pero en otro momento desarrollaré a profundidad esta idea, de hecho, es algo que llevo pensando algo de tiempo. Lo cierto es que no necesitamos una política como la conocemos, ni políticos ni demasiada burocracia.
Por otro lado, la educación la pienso muy diferente al modo tradicional, ya que pienso qué cada ser humano tiene talentos propios de su persona, y el sistema educativo debe contener algunas asignaturas fijas, pero en general todo niño puede explorar sus talentos y el sistema educativo debe permitir un compendio de asignaturas donde los estudiantes puedan explorar sus gustos y poder ofrecer una educación libre y divertida, también con un factor tecnológico importante, ya que esta sociedad utópica promoverá el desarrollo tecnológico para mover a la sociedad a mejoras blockchain.
Ahora vamos con los valores, pienso que los valores son una característica principal y edificante, para comenzar pienso en la transparencia de la blockchain ya que me parece uno de los valores que más habría que rescatar. Que todo pueda verificarse dentro de la cadena de bloques pienso que edificaría no solo una sana economía, sino que forjaria lazos entre los habitantes verdaderamente honestos. Otro de los valores que está sociedad utópica defendería sería la calidad de vida, ya que estamos hablando de una sociedad con la mejor tecnología al servicio del ser humano, toda vida sería una vida realmente digna. Además sería ideal poder defender la libertad, más no el albedrío o la anarquía.
Ciertamente hay muchos más valores que una sociedad utópica cómo está, que apenas esbozo necesitaría para edificarse. Creo que necesito un post para cada sección de la utopía. Ahora mismo por ejemplo pienso que la economía, al igual que la política, necesita re-pensarse, poder alejarse de lo habitual. Pero, ya por el hecho de tener un sistema Blockchain como un elemento constitutivo de la sociedad permite todo un planteamiento innovador. Y aunque lo que diré a continuación parezca un planteamiento de izquierda, me gustaría poder abolir en una utopìa estos paradigmas cerrados de derecha e izquierda. Sería mucho más humano poder poner como prioridad lo humano. Por ello, al construir una sociedad que se autosustenta en muchos aspectos, sería interesante abolir todo el sistema del dinero del modo como lo conocemos que puede traer competición, y más bien promover la cooperación.
Pensar que el abastecimiento de todo lo que es esencial pueda provenir gracias al sistema que permite que la ciudad se sostenga de manera libre es lo ideal, no menciono la palabra gratis, porque también habría que eliminar el concepto de gratuito, sino, pensarlo como todo aquello que produce la ciudad para sus habitantes lo hace porque sus habitantes le permiten poder hacerlo, hay un intercambio de recursos, de energía.
Siento, que este post queda corto a todo lo que se puede hacer y decir sobre una utopía, de hecho, me propondré exponer con más detalle cada uno de los elementos de la utopía más adelante.

An outline of utopia

This week we address the possibility of reflecting on utopia, but more than defining what a utopia is, it is about trying to trace an approach, but if you want to know more about the initiative just click here. Without further ado, I want to outline a utopian vision of society from my point of view.
As we well know utopia is the non-place, or that is what it comes to mean etymologically. Throughout human history there have been many utopian proposals for society, since to think of a utopia is basically to think of an ideal human society. If I am not mistaken it was Thomas More who first used the word utopia, in his famous "Utopia", I do not intend to equate my reflection to his, far from it, but I will try to propose my vision of what could be an ideal society.
To build a whole social worldview in a utopian way is quite a challenge, because there are too many elements to consider, but I will try to do my best, to express myself in a clear and different way. When I think of the construction of a utopian society, the first thing that comes to my mind is the urban organization. I consider that a good social organization is one of the fundamental pillars. Geometrically speaking, the hexagon is the figure that best uses the space, and nature shows it to us, we see it clearly in the beehives, because my utopian city would be made up of districts, each one in the shape of a hexagon and together a certain number of cells make up the self-sustaining city.
I don't know if you know the idea of the "15 minutes city", I find it interesting (I will talk about it later), I think this city project applies well to not very extensive sectors since the 15 minutes city basically defends as its main premise that everyone has access to essential needs in less than 15 minutes walking from home.
Here I want to make clear that, as everything will be relatively close, we will have free public transport service 24 hours a day, there will be no need for combustion vehicles, a system of bicycle lanes for bicycles and electric scooters would be proposed.
Here are these sketches (you will know why I did not study architecture) of how I imagine the districts, each one of them energetically sustainable. I like to think that a city will be composed of between 10 and 15 connected districts, like a kind of honeycomb, and around it, there will be fields with intelligent crops, and farm-laboratories for the production of food that will be distributed among its districts. Regarding water supplies, the city will have a sustainable water service. I think that in the future we must put all technology at the service of humanity and not at the service of wealth and power.
And since we are talking about power, I would now like to present my ideas about politics, education and social values in my utopian hexagonal city. First, let's talk about politics. History has already shown us how not to do politics, since we have made so many mistakes that we must undoubtedly change the way we think about politics.
It would be interesting to think politics from blockchain technology, since we could build a whole decentralized system. Each city with its blockchain system, and each district with its own node. It would be interesting to go deeper into this aspect, but at another time I will develop this idea in depth, in fact, it is something I have been thinking about for some time. The truth is that we don't need politics as we know it, neither politicians nor too much bureaucracy.
On the other hand, I think education is very different from the traditional way, because I think that every human being has talents of his own, and the education system should contain some fixed subjects, but in general every child can explore his talents and the education system should allow a compendium of subjects where students can explore their tastes and offer a free and fun education, also with an important technological factor, since this utopian society will promote technological development to move society to blockchain improvements.
Now let's go with the values, I think that values are a main and uplifting feature, to begin with I think in the transparency of the blockchain as it seems to me one of the values that should be rescued the most. That everything can be verified within the blockchain I think it would build not only a healthy economy, but it would forge bonds between the truly honest inhabitants. Another of the values that this utopian society would defend would be the quality of life, since we are talking about a society with the best technology at the service of human beings, every life would be a truly dignified life. It would also be ideal to defend freedom, but not freedom of will or anarchy.
Certainly there are many more values that a utopian society such as this one, which I barely outline, would need to be built. I think I need a post for each section of utopia. Right now, for example, I think that the economy, as well as politics, needs to rethink itself, to be able to move away from the usual. But, already by having a Blockchain system as a building block of society allows for a whole innovative approach. And even if what I will say next seems a leftist approach, I would like to be able to abolish in a utopia these closed paradigms of right and left. It would be much more humane to be able to put the human as a priority. Therefore, in building a society that is self-sustaining in many aspects, it would be interesting to abolish the whole system of money as we know it, which can bring competition, and rather promote cooperation.
To think that the supply of everything that is essential can come thanks to the system that allows the city to sustain itself in a free way is the ideal, I do not mention the word free, because it would also be necessary to eliminate the concept of free, but to think of it as everything that the city produces for its inhabitants does so because its inhabitants allow it to do so, there is an exchange of resources, of energy.
I feel that this post falls short of everything that can be done and said about a utopia, in fact, I will propose to expose in more detail each of the elements of utopia later.
