Beer Tasting In Bath, England, UK

Hello, beer tasters! 🍻 😎 🍻

It's the 277th #beersaturday, time for a beer story. This post will be a bit different (longer) than usual, as I'm writing it backward, for the whole of last week.

On Sunday afternoon I set off on my journey and flew from Ljubljana to London. Less than two hours. We were shaking pretty badly, so when we landed and we were looking for the train station, I immediately emptied one small can of my favorite brand.

Brewdog - Hazy Jane

Brewdog's Hazy Jane is one such cute New England IPA, alcohol 5% ABV, 25 IBU. Pronounced bitterness and tropical fruit flavors, especially mango.
Very tasty and drinkable.

After some time, we find a train and head to Bath, a pleasant medieval town, and change trains in Reading. The journey took just over three hours, really long, I expected the English railways not to be late and to go faster, but it was not so :(

Finally in Bath, because it's not raining we walk, 15 minutes and we're at the hotel. What now? 11 pm is the hour, too late for food but not for a beer :)

But they didn't have any particular choice of English brands, just Moretti, Heineken, and draught Corona... Well, they also had one IPA in bottles.
I'm with it!

Goose IPA

Brewed by Goose Island Company, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Bottle, 0.33l, alcohol 5.9% ABV, 59 IBU.
I've already tried the Goose IPA on draught in Rome recently but I wasn't convinced at the time.
The one in the bottle was excellent.

That's enough for today, the next four days will be quite busy.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Lunch break. It was crowded in front of Fish And Chips, so we decided to go for a burrito.

Pacifico Clara

Yes, I was sorry I ordered the burrito.
But this Mexican beer struck me as a kind of industrial Mediterranean lager, unremarkable, watery, without smell or taste.

While I'm here, in one of the more touristic towns in England, here are a few more photos.
The 756th Mayor of Bath told us at the Welcome Reception that they have over a million visitors a year.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

The biggest attraction in Bath is the Roman Baths, and here is one of not the best night photos.

Maybe someone from my team, who is a specialist in tourism posts, will write more about the city, @miljo76 ...

Only one hour of the lunch period had to be used for photos, food and beer. Every day, by the time we finished the sessions, it was already dark...

Sharp's Doom Bar

Brewed by Sharp's Brewery, Rock, Cornwall, England, UK. Draft, pint, alcohol 4.00% ABV.
An easy-drinking, low-alcohol session beer, amber ale, with discrete notes of caramel.

Well, it's one of those classic English beers I've come to expect here.
Not the various Morettis, Hainekens, and the like.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Hobgoblin Ruby

Quickly, another pint of Goblin :)

Brewed by Wychwood Brewery, Whitney, Oxfordshire, England, UK.
Alcohol 5.2% ABV. It's ruby ale, also available here at home, I was curious if it tastes the same ... I can tell you that it does.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

It all drags on, doesn't it?
Well, to finish, a visit to the Beer festival.
My colleague and I discovered an offer in one of the bars for 50% off until the end of October, £2.29 for a pint, which is a bargain. (Otherwise, everything we tasted in Bath costs between 5 and 7 GBP.)
The breweries were offering new brands. Of course, we stuck it out until the end. 😁

Green Jack - Jester

A new beer from Green Jack Brewing, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.
Golden ale, alcohol 4.4% ABV. They say that it's the first use of English Jester hop.
Not bad. Hoppy, tropical fruit aromas and bitter aftertaste finish.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

White Rabbit White IPA

Brewed by White Rabbit Brewery, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
Pint, alcohol 3.6% ABV. A new beer from this brewery.
Strongly bitter. It doesn't even feel like it has that little alcohol. Still quite fine.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Salopian Indigenous

Special seasonal Black IPA by Salopian Brewery, Hadnall, Shropshire, England, UK. Alcohol 5.0% ABV.
I was courious, never tasted black IPA before (as I remember?). And it was good. Refreshing, bittery, with the taste of berries and some other dry fruit.

It's enough, what do you think?
Eight different beers in five days. If I had more free time and fewer commitments I would try harder, hahah...

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

And what I'm listening to as I write this? Something from my last #newtunes post - a new discovery for me,

Red Sun Atacama - Furies

Thank you for your attention!
