Hello, beer tasters! 🍻 😎 🍻
How's going? The war is going on, the covid is going on, crypto is stagnating, in short, nothing promising. But, hey, let's be optimistic.
The Russians are not doing so well, they seem to have gone completely mad and are destroying everything in their line, the whole world is turning against them, sooner or later this crime will be over and punished, I hope. The Covid pandemic is dying down and crypto will come out of the bottom again.

So, there is no reason not to try the two new beers that are in front of me.
As usual, the one with less alcohol first. :)
Põhjala Uus Maailm Session IPA

Brewed by Põhjala Brewery, Tallin, Estonia. Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.7% ABV.
It's Session IPA style, hop-dominant, brewed with modern American hops, and usually lower in alcohol.
What do master brewers say about the beer?
A hop-forward California-inspired wheat beer. Brewed with oat flakes for an extra silky mouthfeel. Hopped and dry-hopped with a blend of New World hops (Galaxy and Mosaic). Contains wheat and barley malts and unmalted oats.
Malts: Pale malt, Wheat malt, Oat flakes, Cara pale
Hops: Magnum, Galaxy, Mosaic.
Good, I've been in Tallin two times and I remember I drink once Põhjala beer but not sure if this one. Anyway, that was good. I expect the same with this Uus Maailm.

Beer is a hazy yellow color, the foam is solid and creamy and disappears quickly.
It smells of something fresh, but I don't know exactly what it is. The first sip goes smoothly, I immediately taste the bitterness of the hops that dominate the mouth the whole time, the wheat malt it's almost not there, it's hiding somewhere in the background (I like that, I have to admit), some citrus is also present but discreet.
In the aftertaste, the bitterness lingers for a while and then disappears.

Very fresh and drinkable. I like that the sweetness of the wheat malt didn't take over because I really don't like that. If it was available in local shops and with a slightly lower price (4.5€) it would certainly be in my fridge.

Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo Tropical IPA

Brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Chico, United States. Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.0% ABV.
It's pure IPA beer with a note of tropical fruits.
Master brewers say:
Inspired by the island life, we created an IPA completely disconnected from the mainland. We used our one-of-a-kind Hop Torpedo to deliver an intense rush of hop flavor and the lush aromas of mango, papaya, and passion fruit with every sip. Enjoy our tropical twist on the American IPA.
Oh yes, I'll enjoy it for sure :)

Beer is yellow in color, the foam is rather small and disappears quickly. Hoppy smell.
The first sip goes down the throat smoothly, immediately I get a bitterness of hops mixed with some tropical flavors, I don't know, maybe mango or pineapple but it's very harmonious and drinkable.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

Maybe a nuance less bitter than a classic IPA, the tropical flavors are not so pronounced but very drinkable and balanced.
In conclusion, both beers were to my taste, I can't decide which one is better, I would prefer to have both in my fridge :)
And what am I listening to when I write this and taste?
Nothing from my last #newtunes post. I went to a concert! For the first time in two years, I went to record a live performance by the Slovenian ethnic-chanson duo Zajtrk (Breakfast in English).
