I graduated with honors from Naga Senior High School in the 2020-2021 school year where I studied HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) because it was during the pandemic we were only honored through an online ceremony in which only our pictures were shown.
After graduating from senior high I filed for the Naga City Scholarship. At first I had no intention to apply or take their exam since I wanted to work first especially when a pandemic was still rampant. However because my parents had full trust in me and were really supportive. I decided to apply and take the risk of taking the exam. I never expected that I would pass and become a scholar because at first the exam was very difficult. What I did back then was look up at the ceiling and pray asking the Lord for strength and courage.

But it didn’t end there. After passing the scholarship. I applied to Cebu Technological University Naga Extension Campus but due to unexpected circumstances I wasn't able to join or get in because the slots for first-year admission had already been filled. Since I had no other choice I applied again at the Cebu Technological University San Fernando Extension Campus but I wasn’t accepted because I wasn’t able to take their entrance exam due to a loss of signal in my area.
A few days later I became sad because I thought this might not be the year I would be able to study in college. All I did was pray and ask God for strength and courage. But in an unexpected turn of events there was a post on a page from the Minglanilla City Government looking for students to enroll in CTU Minglanilla Extension Campus. I immediately applied to secure a slot and by the grace of God. I passed and luckily enrolled but unexpectedly the renovation at CTU Minglanilla Extension Campus was not yet finished, so we were temporarily enrolled and transferred to CTU Naga Extension Campus.

Psalm 20:4 "May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed" This verse has been a source of encouragement to me especially as I’m about to graduate this year. It reminds me that God has always led my steps throughout the journey of my life and will continue to do so as I achieve my dreams.

I’m currently in my fourth year of college pursuing a course Bachelor of Elementary Education majoring in General Content. It is honestly hard to believe how far I’ve come on this journey. At times, it felt like a long road ahead but now I look back and realize just how much I’ve learned and grown important things in life. Each step has brought me closer to my dream of becoming an educator and I feel incredibly grateful for the experiences and challenges that have made this journey so rewarding. I do love teaching children so I pursue this course.

September 26, 2024, is the day of our pinning ceremony for pre-service teacher. This day marks a significant milestone as we pin our hopes, dreams, and dedication to the future. A moment of pride, commitment, and new beginnings.

I'm glad I'm here with friends of mine for the pinning ceremony. I am grateful to them for sticking by me through all of the obstacles, from our first year up until fourth year, and we are still together.

I am really happy on this special day because I have the privilege of having my mom with me. It's such a meaningful moment not only for me but also for her as she has always been supportive of my journey to become a teacher. This ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting chapter and I feel proud and thankful for the opportunity to share it with my mom by my side.

As a student teacher I have been given the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced teachers and see how things could be applied into the classroom by myself.
I realized that it’s not easy at all. It truly tests your patience, especially with children who really need the full attention of a teacher. It made me appreciate even more the responsibilities of being an educator.

I have had this hands on experience which has been enlightening as it has allowed me to truly understand the essence of teaching and not just relay knowledge. By all the experience it has helped me understand that teaching is all about listening to every student and allowing them feel valued and motivated to succeed.

I am grateful to Almighty God for giving me parents who are willing to do everything to support me and my sibling @juliuswrites. We are only two siblings in our family, and I am the eldest. As the eldest and also a breadwinner in our family, I will do everything I can just to finish my studies and repay all the sacrifices and hard work of my father who works as a construction worker and my mother who is a housewife and always there to support me and my sibling. I am not ashamed that my father works as a construction worker because through his hard work and being the provider.

I am now close to graduating from college. Despite the challenges my father is able to provide for our needs, especially when it comes to our education particularly since my younger sibling and I are both in college. I love my family so much to the point that I always strive to give them the beautiful life and experiences they’ve always dreamed of. It’s my way of showing how much they mean to me.

Why did I decided to join hive?
I decided to join because of my cousin's wife, Ate Coleen @helianthus-chloe. I listened to her advice and the insightful explanations she gave about Hive. I became interested and thought that joining would be helpful for me. I realize that becoming a member of Hive provides me with an opportunity to exchange skills, interact with a helpful community. For someone like me who is motivated to keep up knowledge and help others by joining Hive, I want to expand my knowledge even further.

On February 2, 2025, there was an orientation led by Sir @intoy.bugoy. During that orientation I learned a lot because of his dedication in explaining and sharing information about Hive made me feel excited and encouraged to join. I realized that it could offer great benefits for me. He motivated me to continue participating in Hive that’s why I created my intro blog.

Again, this is Juvylyn C. Sumabat — a future educator, a loving daughter, a sports enthusiast, and a gamer. I am ready to take on the challenges I will face here in Hive and I am also prepared to share every story of my life through each picture I post. I hope you will support me as I share my thoughts and experiences in every chapter of my life.
