Hello, I took a break from this series for a while and time flies. It's been 11 days since I published my last tutorial Hive post. The topic we're going to cover today is something that many people have heard of in Hive but don't fully understand what it is, Engagement.
What is Engagement?
Engagement can be summarized as communicating with other users on Hive. When you rate some people, that's engagement for them, but engagement is actually visiting their posts, reading their posts and commenting on them to show that you actually read them. More than that, it's having a conversation with that person about what they're sharing. For example, there are a lot of people sharing great photos on Hive, you can visit them and mention in the comments that you've taken similar photos, or you can ask the person who took the photo what they took it with. You can share what kind of photos you like, of course it all depends on what the post is about.
What is Fake Engagement?
There are many examples of this on Hive. I just told you about people sharing photos they've taken. Well, you can write "great shots" under one of those posts. But does that mean that you actually read that post? Or that you've actually looked at those photos? Unfortunately, no. After all, if the person sharing the photos didn't think they were beautiful, they wouldn't share them, right? You need to talk about the details in those photos or the landscape.
In addition to this, I will talk about another fake engagement that I rarely see. There is an event that I can't forget, even though it may be a year later. One day @demotry told me that a user on the Discord server was merging and sharing other users' comments. I don't remember the name of that user now, but he was right. For example, user A wrote on a post "I love the view, where is this place?" and user B wrote on the same post "I take similar photos, what camera do you use?". The fake engager I just mentioned combines these two comments without changing any words and writes "I love the view, where is this place? I take similar photos, what camera do you use?". Crazy, isn't it? He repeated this under the posts of many different users and no one even noticed. Of course, these aren't real interactions either and he's probably not using Hive right now because no one would want to read a post or comment he wrote.
Why Engagement Matters?
This is a social media platform and most people don't know each other. People who know each other in real life probably make up less than 10% of the platform. You can all be sure of that. That's why you have to interact with a person to meet them and become friends with them. Otherwise, why would they upvote you? Or how can they understand that you are a real user? You could very well be a fake user, or an identity thief. But as you talk and get to know people and they see that you are a real person, a quality user, they will trust you and upvote you.
Now that I've told you what you're really interested in, let me tell you a little bit about the reality. Votes are really not very important. They come and go, the most important thing is that you have real friends. Because if you don't have friends on a social media platform, can you really enjoy it? Before I met the Turkish community and the gaming community, I wasn't having fun on the platform, but really interacting with people and even playing games or having voice conversations with them has increased my commitment to Hive.
Things You Should Pay Attention To
Avoid the things I mentioned under the heading of fake engagement. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. Remember that the comment you make under a post reflects whether you are actually interested in that post. This is instantly noticed and frowned upon by a regular user.

Etkileşim Nedir?
Etkileşimi Hive'daki diğer kullanıcılarla iletişime geçmek olarak özetleyebiliriz. Bazı insanları oyladığınızda bu onlar için bir etkileşimdir ama etkileşim aslında onların gönderilerini ziyaret etmek, gönderileri okumak ve onlara gerçekten okuduğunuzu gösteren bir yorum yapmaktır. Bunun da ötesinde paylaştığı şey hakkında o kişiyle sohbet etmektir. Sahte Etkileşim Nedir?
Hive'da bunun da pek çok örneğini görmek mümkün. Size az önce çektiği fotoğrafları paylaşan insanlardan bahsetmiştim. Pekala, bu gönderilerin birinin altına "harika çekimler" yazabilirsiniz. Peki bu gerçekten o gönderiyi okuduğunuzu gösterir mi? Ya da o fotoğrafları incelediğinizi? Maalesef göstermez. Zaten fotoğrafları paylaşan kişi güzel olduğunu düşünmese paylaşmaz değil mi? Sizin o fotoğraflardaki detaylar üzerine ya da manzara üzerine konuşmanız gerekir.
Bunun da yanında nadir de olsa gördüğüm bir başka sahte etkileşimden bahsedeceğim. Belki üzerinden 1 yıl geçse de unutamadığım bir olay var. @demotry bir gün Discord sunucusunda bir kullanıcının başka kullanıcıların yorumlarını birleştirip paylaştığını söyledi. O kullanıcının adını şu an hatırlamıyorum ama gerçekten de haklıydı. Örneğin kullanıcı A bir gönderiye "manzaraya bayıldım, burası neresi?" yazmış olsun, kullanıcı B de aynı gönderiye "benzer fotoğrafları ben de çekiyorum, sen hangi makineyi kullanıyorsun?" yazmış olsun. Az önce bahsettiğim sahte etkileşimci bu iki yorumu hiçbir kelimeyi değiştirmeden birleştiriyor ve "manzaraya bayıldım, burası neresi? Benzer fotoğrafları ben de çekiyorum sen hangi makineyi kullanıyorsun?" yazıyor. Çılgınca değil mi? Bunu pek çok farklı kullanıcının gönderilerinin altında tekrarlamış ve kimse fark etmemiş bile. Tabi ki bunlar da gerçek etkileşimler değil ve muhtemelen şu anda Hive kullanmıyor çünkü kimse onun yazdığı bir gönderiyi ya da yorumu okumak istemez.
Etkileşim Neden Önemli?
Burası bir sosyal medya platformu ve insanların çoğu birbirini tanımıyor. Gerçek hayatta birbirini tanıyan kullanıcılar platformun %10'unu bile oluşturmuyordur. Bundan hepiniz emin olabilirsiniz. Bu yüzden bir insanla tanışmak ve onunla arkadaş olabilmek için onunla etkileşime geçmelisiniz. Aksi takdirde sizi neden oylasınlar? Ya da sizin gerçek bir kullanıcı olduğunuzu nasıl anlayabilirler? Asıl ilginizi çekecek şeyi size söylediğime göre biraz da gerçeklerden bahsedeyim. Oylar gerçekten çok önemli değil. Geliyorlar ve gidiyorlar, asıl önemli olan şey gerçek arkadaşlara sahip olmanız. Çünkü bir sosyal medya platformunda arkadaşınız yoksa oradan gerçekten keyif alabilir misiniz? Türk topluluğu ve oyun topluluğu ile tanışmadan önce platformda eğlenmiyordum ancak gerçekten insanlarla etkileşime geçmeye ve hatta onlarla oyun oynamak ya da sesli konuşmalar gerçekleştirmek benim Hive'a olan bağlılığımı arttırdı.
Dikkat Etmeniz Gereken Şeyler
Sahte etkileşim başlığı altında bahsettiğim şeylerden kaçının. Kimse sizi hiçbir şeye zorlamıyor. Bir gönderinin altına yaptığınız yorumun gerçekten o gönderiyle ilgilenip ilgilenmediğini yansıttığını unutmayın. Bu düzenli bir kullanıcı tarafından anında fark edilir ve hoş karşılanmaz.
