Making Money seems to be a hot topic right now (When is it ever not, LOL!)
Okay, so Splinterlands has moved over from STEEM to HIVE, finally! It was only a matter of time. Splinterlands has been one of the top DAPPS on dappradar for quite some time now and more and more people will be checking the game out. As people already know, it's not just any game, it's a game that lets you earn via various methods.
Gold Foil Legendary Cards
The most obvious one, the most glorious, shiny way to earn money on Splinterlands is to get a Gold Foil Legendary card or even GF epics or rares. But the GFLs earn you the most, no doubt. Just recently @shoemanchu sold a Gold Foil Prince Julian to @neoxian for $3500! No, that last zero was NOT added by mistake! But the problem with this is that, it depends on your luck and when you wanna make money strategically, you can not rely solely on luck, and that's what getting GFL is all about. So I'm not going to be talking about making money by getting and selling GFLs.
Win Battles
The other obvious way is by winning battles and earning DECs. But when you calculate that amount in USD, it's usually a very small amount if you're not playing a lot or if you're not winning tournaments. Most of the DECs I get by winning battles goes into buying cards, so in a sense you are not having to put too much extra money into the game to buy and upgrade cards. The DECs earned per season will usually be enough to upgrade a few commons and rares!
My Favorite, Trade!
Just look at the cards as any other cryptocurrency. You buy at a low, you sell at a high. It's that simple! In regular crypto, you don't really know what's a good "low" to buy in. But that is eliminated with splinterlands cards. You can easily go to Monstermarket and check the lowest price any card is being sold at at any time and how many of that card is available. Then when you see a card at a discount, you automatically know if it's a good deal or not.
Today I'll share the most recent trade profit I made just by trading Splinterlands cards!
A week ago, someone put up 6 Alpha Lyanna Natura and 6 Alpha Alric Stormbringer for sale at a very discounted price! He had listed the Lyanna Natura for $1.6 each.
And he priced the Alpha Alric stormbringer at $2.6 each.
Now, if you have any idea about card prices, you immediately know these Alpha summoners at these prices are a steal! So I immediately, without thinking twice, bought all 12 of these. I was faster than the card buying bots lol!
Then, after the switch to HIVE, I placed the Lyanna Natura for sale at $2.49 each and the Alric Stormbringer at $3.9 each (I could have sold much higher, but no regrets as long as I profited!) And guess what! They were swooped away very quickly!
I had bought the Lyanna at a total of $9.6 and Alric at a total of $15.6. These two added up to $25.2. I bought these over at MonsterMarket, so I got a 3% discount which brings down my total to $24.4. I sold them at a total of $14.94 and $23.4 respectively, total $38.34. Take 5% off that sale for market fees, and I received $36.3! So roughly a profit of $12 just by buying and selling 12 cards! So i'll let you figure out the possibilities yourself!
Finally, Posting on HIVE!
Every week you can get upto two upvotes on two of your Splinterlands related posts. The two weekly challenges are the "Weekly Curation Challenge" and the "Share your Battle Weekly Challenge." Make a nice, formatted and win some good upvotes! The liquid payouts you get from these posts can then be used to either buy and upgrade your cards or maybe rent a few expensive ones at a good deal from Peakmonsters. So to start playing Splinterlands, you really don't need a hefty amount to pay upfront! If you're smart enough, you can find ways around to recycle your investments! Earn DECs from battles, earn HIVE/HBD from SL related posts - Keep a tab of your earnings and limit yourselves to only these funds to buy and upgrade your cards. If you're feeling fancy, maybe open up a few packs and try out your Luck.
