It's funny how many times I ve tried to sit to write about this I hope I finish it at a go this time. Really, one of the saddest things thing to discover in this life is that some people don't like good music. What I mean by good music is music that doesn't involve noise making.

Some's appreciation of music begins to break every rule there is as if the song they were listening too seem to have overriden their reasoning to make them not consider people.

I have heard all sorts of neighbours right from college, service year Medschool and even Housemanship.

They ranged from music lovers who knew how to sing and play instruments, music lovers who didn't have an idea how to sing or play, music lover who shout and play loud, non music lovers, anti social, and freaks and I must say. I have copied with people and that's where the blessing is, being able to have coped.

In college days I had a neighbour who heard me playing the guitar and one day came in and said he could play, I gave him my guitar to see his skill, he ended up snapping my number 2 string. At that point I had no idea I had no idea how to change the strings so I was really sad, not angry but sad.

In Medical school, Neighbours will always wanna hear me play, one senior class student approached me one day if I could play for him while he read, he said he ll pay me N1000.00, that's sadly around $2 then but now it's way less. I declined.. lol. ..cos I was also gonna need to study hard to pass my exams hehe. I referred him to some studying tunes on youtube, which he was really grateful for, but every time I played He ll love to come around.

I once had a room mate, who knew how to sing so well, he was head of his Choir unit in Church and really love it when I pick up the guitar and he was free. It made our room the musical room on the block. No we didn't play loud music, we even had no speakers, cos people were definitely gonna complain of it's noise, but when it's us singing, they loved it.

One day in school I saw a junior come to me with her guitar, and said she has had it for a long time and wanted to learn. We ended up becoming friends, I met many other friends that way. They all heard me playing from my room probably. Cos I didn't play at shows like @draysax who goes to dinners and wedding parties. Well only for a few class functions.

Currently I have neighbours who are as quiet and busy as I am, I m sure they hear me when I m singing, I had told one of them I sing and do music asides being a Dr and he really loved it, this was after he inquired about my solar inverter. I told him I didn't like the noise of a generator, which really makes a hell of a noise.

They enjoy it when I sing an play both the piano and the guitar the most. Other neighbours only see me carrying my guitar around, I hoping one-day we LL have a sit around and play a few songs like Ii used to do during Housemanship.

A few fellow Drs would come around and will talk gist, play song and sing along. It was fun. And no one could complain, you ll either join us or go home. Hehe. It was noisy, but I liked it.

At one point I left my door open whenever I was playing, because I knew someone would walk in.. hehe. And someone always does. One new neighbour once came in on the guise of searching for a missing penπŸ˜…πŸ˜….

Ok, enough said, let me attempt the questions @mipiano suggested to help.

-Are you a musician or have a neighbour that is a musician?

Yes, I believe I am. I guess it takes the music to make a musician.

-Does someone in your close family play an instrument?

My Dad was first to get the guitar, he played only fairly. My Eldest Brother also plays the Piano, the drums and the bass guitar.

-Is it difficult to listen many times to the practising sessions?

No, practicing can be difficult but listening, well as long as perfection is gained over time. I could repeat and repeat till I m tired and then rest to go again hehe. It's a struggle now that time is limited, but one phrase I keep telling my self is .. I ll be better.

-Is it nice, do you find joy in that?

Oh.. didn't see this coming, the joy comes full when I see that I m getting better. I remember when I learnt the bar chords and mastered them haha.. I was so happy I was finally gonna be climbing up the fret board.

-Did you have some funny moments?

Haha.. very well, at times I laughed out loud when I miss a note over and over and over.

-Have someone ever complained to you if you study your musical instrument?

Well, I don't think anyone ever did this, at a point in Church, I didn't attend rehearsals cos I had arrived late on Saturday night. The song was gonna be done on Sunday, I only learned the song by ear and played it on Sunday. I played it so well everyone cheered, but for one person who came to say it was too loud lol., I later realised he always told the other guys who played more regularly that they also played louder, he probably has a hearing disorder.

-What was the wildest thing you made in your flat, bothering the neighbours?
-What is your favourite music you listen to very loudly??

I used to love Casting Crown, Hillsong United and mostly worshipful songs and Love songs. I do love Johnny Drille and Many Nigerian artists.

-Has someone called the police?

A resounding No πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

-What do your neighbours listen to, and do you like it?

Well, they listen Nigerian pop music and all, some times I hear them listening to gospel songs which I like. I m planning to turn up with the guitar someday and we have some good time. I hope soon hehe.

It's important to consider people around you, as a musician, what we produce is for the ears of men, and we can't shut them out. So our priorities should be ordered. People,me and music.

Thanks for reading my postπŸ₯°.
