Which by the way is an awesome post with way too little interaction. While this song did not make the cut, it was a great gem and I kept it hidden till tonight. Love this lazy atmosphere, but I will not stay that way throughout our trip tonight Dear Reader.

Where the previous song just sounded like stepping in a way-back machine, this next one is a way-back machine.Of course, I knew that Paul was married to a Linda, and I even remembered that she did something in Wings back then. But then I found this song, and I was just so taken in by the melody and the sweet and simple vibe. This weekend has her whole album on the planning hoping it has one more gem like this one.

The first ever Midnight Gems Session was filled with shoegaze London grammar-like songs and that is still a niche I love to get lost in and this Strawberry Girl did just that.

Nope not the same girl, but probably the same hairdresser, but that is not the why i chose this song. I just love how these guys made a crossover between shoe gaze and goth. I don´t understand a word of it but this is like the Cure did it with My Bloody Valentine.

Guess I am having a hairdresser theme tonight and I like the night, especially this night, and where we are going....I just hope that the night likes me.

And that something special is not Crystal Castles, now I have to admit that I played this duo several times....before I learned what a dirty creep the male part of this band was. That doesn´t mean I don't like their sound anymore but since I know they will always have this MJ dirty stigma.
Luckily there is a politically correct option, not that I care music is music and does not link to what the musicians do in their free time. But it's a good excuse to play Alice.
ALICE GLASS - STILLBIRTH
Damn for some reason she makes me feel like I am listening to a heavy-doped version of the Shiny Toy Guns, and I love ST Guns so I was freaking impressed by her Stillbirth.
The idea was to end tonight's session with this song and just before I finalized my set I found this collab with the guy from SOAD. It does not sound like Chop Suey at all but damn it´s sexy, cool, and excentric.

My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.
Who the fluff am I?
Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years...Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
