Last sunday, which was also the last day of the month of January it was one of the few sunny days we have had so far in 2021. Despite the freezing temperatures, it felt almost warm if I stayed in the sun. A trip back and forth to the harbourfront became my Sunday outing. It really was one of those days where it was possible to get the perfect photos of reflections.
This is the city's newest theater and concert hall, named Kilden Theater and Concert Hall.
When it opened in 2012, it became Norway's second largest performing art institution and has an exciting music environment. Theater, opera, musicals and the City Symphony Orchestra are set up here. It's an amazing building, both inside and outside.
It is situated by the harbour front. Right on the opposite side the container port and fish shops are located. This is where you go when you want to buy fresh fish.
On my way back to my home, I have to cross the river which divides the city. I didn't take this bridge, but stopped to look at it. It's a pedestrian bridge and our newest addition when it comes to bridges. It opened on the 17th of December 2020.
My choice of bridge to get back home was «Lundsbroa», which is the oldest bridge in town, that crosses the river Otra. It was built in 1938, but this is the second. The first was built before 1900, but it's no longer here.
The other side of the bridge. Now the street lights on the bridge are on. Soon it will be dark, but I'm home 10 minutes later. A cold, but sunny sunday afternoon in January was quite refreshing.
