Hello everyone! Today I have a lot of news to give you, so let's start with the release.
On May 7, 2024, with some programming experience but no previous knowledge about Hive development, I decided to create a useful tool for all Rising Star players. The idea at the beginning was quite simple, to be able to buy at per/statistics price and no other functions.
As the application gained users, I felt the need to incorporate new features, such as filters, the uniques feature, music lessons, CHART for STARPRO and STARBITS and many other additional features. Today, May 16, marks more than a year since I started the development of the website, and I wanted to take the opportunity to hold a giveaway and reward the users of the site. The raffle consists of giving away 12.000.000 STARBITS to be distributed among a total of three users. This is how the prizes will be divided:
- First Winner: 6.000.000 STARBITS
- Second Winner: 4.000.000 STARBITS
- Third Winner: 2.000.000 STARBITS
Giveaway rules
Those are all the requirements to be participating for a juicy prize from STARBITS. The winners will be announced on May 24th in a separate post. Remember to follow the steps correctly to participate.
In the last post I made on the @risingstarutils account, I told you that I would like to monetize the Rising Star Utils website in a better way. The truth is that the profits obtained from the transactions compensate the maintenance of the hosting, but I don't receive a penny for the maintenance and development that I give it.
My solution to this, so as not to depend on donations, is to implement AdSense. Two weeks ago, I submitted the site to monetize the page in Google AdSense and unfortunately after waiting a few weeks, I was rejected. I thought that maybe the design was not attractive enough and that's why I was not accepted to monetize with AdSense. The site was built only with HTML and CSS, without using any framework that would facilitate a modern and visually more pleasing design.I've taken advantage of the experience I've gained with Next.js in building Hive NFTs and Hive Reward Delegation to think about making the front end of Rising Star Utils from scratch. At an early stage of the project, it wouldn't have been a big deal, since it would only involve changing a couple of things. However, in this case it meant redesigning more than ten functions that I had already implemented on the site.
Luckily, I always had a good backend to provide the data, which allowed me to streamline the process and rebuild the page in just a week. It has been many hours of work, but I think the result has been completely worth it. In the Home section, I have significantly improved the design and user experience. I have implemented several animations thanks to frame-motion. I have added a new section called Our services to tell about the website and I have also improved Our Impact and About Me that were there previously. In the Cheap, Uniques and Lessons section I have implemented a new design that is much more modern and allows you to see more clearly your statistics and filters that you are applying. Also, the section where it appears to buy cards has been significantly improved.
I have implemented a new modern design for the STARPRO and STARBITS chart section. I have also re-done the My Stats chart, the Log Calculator and the history of purchases, sales, transfers and issued.
I have rebuilt the option to be able to see the information of each card. I had to remove some functionality such as buying that card from that section. It is likely that in the future, I will add it again.
I have included two new pages where the Terms and Conditions of the application and the Privacy Policy, essential to be accepted in AdSense, will be included.
Finally, I have achieved a very nice design in a short time, without sacrificing key functionalities. Experience and constant learning allow to evolve: what was once a simple development, now becomes a well-structured project.By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you, in case AdSense accepted the page, to consider not using adblocker on the site. That way, you will be able to help this project to keep going for a long time to come.
Thank you for using the application, and see you next time!
