Before this week fully takes over, I want to take a moment and share my weekend with you guys. It was quite a relaxing one, spent with family and getting organized for May.
SATURDAY
After coffee + Steemit time, which is part of my morning routine, I made a strawberry cake because we had my sister in law with the kids, Sara and Stefan, visiting us. The weather was so nice and we spent a lot of time outside. I got to play with my nieces and nephews (both of my brothers are married and they have a daughter and a son each, 4 kiddos in total for now). Chasing two little boys who are crawling super fast and want to touch everything they are not suppose to can be very tiring. :D
My almost 6 year old niece was sick so she was not that active but the 2 and a half year old is definitely the one with the most energy. Even though she missed her afternoon nap that day, it didn't affect her energy levels at all, lol.
I felt like we were having a break when we were playing in the sand. Later on she was jumping in a trampoline and I got tired just from watching her jumping for so long.
We also had lunch inside and later coffee and cake in the backyard, enjoying the nice weather. In the evening, after a long day, I was tired, covered in sand with messy hair but happy I got to spend quality time with the family.
Random thoughts:
Saturday activities made me think of how me and my friends used to spend time as kids. Without modern technology and entertainment, we spent a lot of time outside, climbing trees, playing hide and seek, making "food" out of leaves, dirt and mud... The biggest "luxury" for me as a kid was when we got Sega! My favorite toy was a wooden gun that my brother made me.
SUNDAY
Sunday was as lazy as it gets. In the afternoon I went outside with a cup of coffee and my random notebook where I just did some writing and dumped everything I had on my mind on those blank pages. Then I did some bullet journal planning for May since it's going to be a busy month for me .
Since there was some cake leftover, I got a piece again. By the way, I will share a recipe and photos next time I make it. It has that sour/sweet taste and I think it's perfect for spring and summer since it's very refreshing.
Random thoughts:
Something that crossed my mind so many times this weekend are memories from my 'party hard' days. There were two periods in my life where I partied every single weekend for months and months. That always included a lot of alcohol, staying out until the morning and messed up sleep schedule. With age, my alcohol tolerance started to give up on me which had some terrible hangovers as a result. I still like to go out every now and then but lately I prefer meeting my friends in the evening for a drink and some darts or have a chilled gathering at someone's place. Or just spend the entire weekend at home, introvert style. :)
Random flower shots:
How was your weekend? Was it chilled and relaxed or you did something more fun/adventurous? :)
