Welcome to Ambrosia - vegan food & herbal apothecary.
After some fun events, random cafe pop-ups, and lots of thinking, we are ready to come out of the closet and into the public with our crazy love for plant based food and healing.
We've been brainstorming, experimenting, laughing and busting frustrated tears, and finally time has come for everyone else to see who we are, what we do, and what we want to contribute with.
Who are we?
We are a small group of passionate beings with a burning desire to both share and gain more wisdom about nature, our bodies, and how they connect. We use nature, each other, and anything that inspires us along the way, to create vibrant and colourful foods, teas and healing herbs.
Before the name and the concept was born, the two of us started playing with food and exploring new recipes together. It started with the simple, small things, like sandwiches and tweaking prepackaged half fabricated foods. But the interest for cooking and creating really took off when we both took the step of going vegan, and a whole new world of creative cooking opened up.
We started researching recipes, and cooking more and more wholesome homemade foods, and realized how simple and delicious this new way of life really was. Not to mention, how much better we felt, with a whole new way of seeing food.
As an art form and creative outlet, and also as something that brings happiness and wellbeing to both body and mind.
Just cooking it is not enough, though; we also want to share it, and the feelings that comes along. The intimate homelike feeling of having dinner with your loved ones, the excitement and almost ecxtacy-like buzz you can get from a cake filled with raw cocoa, or the warm and healing effect of a warm cup of herbal tea.. It is simply too good to keep for ourselves!
What do we want to contribute with?
Ambrosia is greek for " food for the Gods", and that is exactly what we hope people will think when they try out our food, desserts and drinks.
Vegan food has an unfair reputation of being bland, sad and boring, and that is a stigma we are on a constant mission to challenge. Like all other food out there, its all about the spice, produce and the love one puts in it. It can be healthy and fresh, but it can also be fatty and junky. Bottom line, it can always be bloody delicious, if one puts ones mind to it.
Both human and animal welfare is important to us, and our respect for the planet we live within is a strong drive for us to create delicious and mindful alternatives to what we consume in our society. We focus on homemade vegan food, cakes, herbal teas and cacao, and hope to serve and inspire as many people as we can, while still having fun and staying true to our roots. We want to promote plant-based, healthy and affordable food for everyone.
But, its not only about stuffing ourselves (and others) with awesome food.
With our traveling cafe we are looking to accomplish many things, a few of them evolve around spreading awareness about health and show people a path of natural medicine. We also seek to create something that is giving to the earth, animals and humans. With this we will work with event-makers and ethical companies to make a difference together.
As mentioned earlier, we are playful and happy creatures, who thrive in creativity and amongst like-minded people.
We also create different forms of art, and have plenty of other projects in the back of our minds for the future. Therefore you can not only expect food-related posts like recipes, food-plans and upcoming events; but also posts about exploring veganism, experiences in nature, and traveling; building bridges between different kind of creative communities all over the world.
