Here’s my short introduction to this community:
my name is Marc and I started my own business 18 months ago and it’s completely bootstrapped, which means I didn’t take any fundings till today. The focus of my company called AppTruck is developing custom business apps for small and medium sized companies around the world.
Where does the name come from?
I was inspired by food trucks. They serve great food and it’s a definitely an unique customer experience.
So two years ago I started thinking about reducing my upfront costs, when starting my own business. Two things I figured out have been monthly office rent and leasing a car to get to my clients. If I could merge an office and a car that would reduce my monthly fix costs.
That said I started to research about vans, batteries, voltage, mounting a screen … really a lot of stuff.
During summer 2015 I built the AppTruck.
Back to food trucks: I’m using the AppTruck to get to my clients and develop apps right in front of their store/office. They can swing in anytime and have a look how their app is making progress.
