Hello world, my name is Stino.

Hello Steemians!

My name is Stino, and let me start by saying that it's an honour to be an early adopter of Steemit!

My adventures in crypto world started when I first heard about Bitcoin late 2012. I read an article online detailing the currency's relation to deep web markets. At first i didn't think much of it, i thought it was a similar concept to earlier versions of virtual money such as the Linden Dolar... Forward to late 2013 Bitcoin surged to 1200USD and i had to knock on things to verify i wasn't dreaming.

I started submerging myself in just about any information that i could find on crypto currency and blockchain technology. After understanding that the blockchain is the first tool ever to allow frictionless value transfer by replacing the need for a trusted third party with the transparency of an open distributed ledger, i honestly believe that Satoshi's white paper on Bitcoin will go down in history as one of the most significant contributions to computer science and perhaps even economics.

Before Steemit, i intuitively started linking the blockchain's potential to user generated content. I ended up on a site called filmannex.com which later turned into bitlanders.com. Both of which are horribly designed/coded and are unsuccessful attempts at trying to establish what Steemit is FINALLY getting right!

Growing up in Europe, and seeing our economy gradually tumble over the past few decades. I started to develop a general aversion towards a culture essentially based on acquisition and centralisation of wealth. Seeing how trade unions, environmental and humanitarian organisations are constantly battling the symptoms of such a culture, i began to understand that our current political mechanisms are insufficient in trying to contain the immeasurable suffering and inequality associated with rampant capitalism.
American architect Buckminster Fuller once stated that in order to change things one must come up with a new, more efficient model that renders the old one obsolete. I believe that this is where technology is now approaching an evolutionary sweetspot.
Due to the fact that information technology, especially the internet, clearly favors the individual over the institution and the visible trends of ephemeralization an miniaturisation show no sign of stopping. One must inevitably conclude that the majority of existing business models will be disrupted as infrastructure and innovation will be accessible to all.
Whether we are talking about solar energy, blockchain technology or eventually molecular assembly and AI. It is clear that the future will be very, very different.

I look forward in reading great content from all of you!
Thank you for reading.
