The Three Views of Japan (日本三景) is regarded as the most celebrated scenic sights. These are the Amanohashidate (天橋立) in Kyoto, Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社) in Miyajima in Hiroshima and Matsushima islands (松島) in Miyagi prefecture.
On our last trip, we finally completed the quests when we visited Mastushima islands.
Today, let's share the first of the views, Amanohashidate (天橋立)
This photo taken atop the Kasamatsu Park has a beautiful of the Amanohashidate sandbar. It is famous for the thin and long sand bar connected the two bays. The land is covered with thousands of pine treess.
A panoramic view of the area
To get to the top of Kasamatsu park, we have to take a cable car. It was fun but a little scary.
The park is rather small, with just a few simple rides and a small restaurant.
The trip down the top.
Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to explore the sand bar. Apparently, a recommended activity is to rent a bicycle and ride along the sand bar.
After this, we head on to Kinosaki Onsen in the nearby prefecture. Will talk about it next time.
