JR Vacation
If I only have time for 1 shopping mall in Tokyo, my all-time favourite Lumine Est Shinjuku would definitely be THE ONE due to the following reasons:
- The only major shopping mall in Tokyo which closes at 10pm. Most shopping malls in Tokyo close between 8pm-8.30pm. So an extended closing time is a MAJOR bliss~~~.???
- Lumine Est Shinjuku has a wide variety of mid-range shopping boutiques and include almost all the popular brands. So you can easily see the latest fashion trend and have the convenience of attacking all brands under 1 roof!
- They have 8% tax exemption for tourists and you can combine your tax-free refunds at their tax-free refund counters located on level B1 or level 6, and there are both Mandarin and English speaking staff available. This is a bonus as it means you can save the time that boutique staff takes to do tax refund at their respective shops (which some staff can take quite a while to process this...) and just rush to the tax-free counter before 2159 hours. ? However, do note that to be eligible for tax-refund, you have to spend a minimum of 5,001 yen (excluding taxes) in 1 shop.
- Lumine Est Shinjuku is located just outside or in fact, connected to JR Shinjuku station, the busiest train station in the world! Shinjuku is also the most populated and one of the popular tourist destination in Tokyo. Convenience level rating = ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lumine Est Shinjuku is owned by JR East and is located at Shinjuku Station East Exit. It has 10 floors of shops, which you can easily spend 1 full day. Women's and men's fashion, cosmetic, beauty & relaxation, interior furnishing, household goods are located on level B1, B2, 1 to 6, and restaurants are located on level 7 & 8.

Do take special note that there are two other shopping blocks - Lumine 1 & Lumine 2 located outside Shinjuku Station South exit. They also belong to the Lumine Group but house different brands and labels. Do not confuse Lumine 1 & Lumine 2 with Lumine Est, which is located outside East exit.
